It is New Years Eve, Travis, Katie, and the rest of camp were on the beach. Tonight is the firework show. Last year, on this exact day, Katie and Travis had their first kiss. The couple is still happily dating. It would be one year at 12:02 a.m, January first.

Travis's pov

I am so excited to start the New Year with Katie. Tonight, I am going to tell her I love her.

I am getting ready. I put on my blue swim trunks and a tight white and gray striped muscle shirt. I slipped on my flip flops and walked out the door.

When I got to the beach, there was a snack bar. I walked over and got some punch. While I was drinking my punch, I waited for Katie.

Katie's pov

Tonight was the firework show. Travis and I are gonna have a picnic before the fireworks start. The show is in 3 hours, so I need to get ready.

I am wearing a sleeveless sun dress. It has emerald green and pink flowers on it.

I fixed my hair into a side fishtail braid. Applied some light makeup, mascara and light pink lipgloss. Then put on my silver flower necklace with an emerald inside (Travis gave it to me for my 18 birthday). Before I walked out the door, I put on my brown sandals.

When I got to the beach, I saw Travis sitting on a huge towel. He was looking at the lake.

"Beautiful, isn't it." I said, looking at him. (Awww)

He jerked around. "Oh, hey Katie."

I sat down next to him. " Oh hey, that is all I get!" I said jokingly.

He laughed. "You look beautiful, Katie."

I punched him slightly in the arm. "Are you checking me out?" I questioned.

"What, oh, no!" He said blushing madly.

"Well in that case, you don't look too bad yourself." That was an understatement. He was hot! His shirt was so tight, it showed off his six pack.

He laughed at that remark.

I smiled and kissed him. He kissed back. He put one hand on my waist and deepened the kiss. I was leaning on one hand and the other was on his neck. It lasted for about three minutes.

We pulled away. We both sat there staring at each other. He smiled, then I did.

"You seem worried about something." I said, trying to figure it out.

"Oh, it's nothing."

"Are you sure? You can tell me anything." I looked off into the distance. What if he is about to break up with you! "Even if you're breaking up wit-"

"No, I am not breaking up with you." He said.

Phew, that was a relief.

Travis pov

She thought I was breaking up with her. I can't believe it. The reason I seem worried is because I want to tell her I love her. Not break up with her.

"Oh, thank goodness." She said relieved.

"Katie, I have never even thought about breaking up with you, and I won't. Not in a millennium."

She smiled at that. "That makes me feel better. Then what are you worried about?"

"I am planning something for tonight. You will hear then."

"Okay everyone, the countdown will start in 60 seconds, so all you couples get ready." Annabeth announced, then winked. She hopped of a log and walked towards Percy.

I wrapped my arm around Katie, who was standing next to me.

I turned to look at her. "You really do look beautiful tonight." I said, staring into her eyes.

She smiled and put her arms around my neck. "You look great too." She said back.

I put my hands on her waist and pulled her closer. She laid her head on my chest.

Katie and I kissed. It was a short kiss, but it was still beautiful to me. I know, cheesy. That is just how I feel when we kiss.

We broke apart. "I love you, Katie Gardner.

Katie's pov

He just said he loved me. Eeeek!

"I love you too, Trav." I said back and hugged him.

"Hey, you never told me why you were worried." I said to him.

"Oh yeah. I was trying to figure out how I would say I love you."

"Aww, you are the best boyfriend in the world." I said.

He kissed my cheek. "I couldn't ask for a better girlfriend, either."

We went and laid down on the picnic blanket. I turned towards him and laid my head on his chest. He put his arm around me.

Tavis's pov

Katie snuggled up to me. I wish we could do this every night.

She fell asleep, so when the party ended, I carried her back to her cabin.

She woke up when I sat her on her bed. She is the counselor, so she had her own bedroom,with soundproof walls.

"Travis." She said looking up at me.

"Yeah, Katie-Kat." I said. I sat next to her, on her bed.

"Thank you for bringing me back."

"No problem."

Katie laughed a little. She hugged me.

"Goodnight." I said. "You need to sleep."

"Goodnight Trav." She said. She gave me a goodnight kiss and I got up.

When I got back to my cabin, I changed into my pajamas. I got in bed and thought about the night.

It was one the best rests I have had in a while. I had good dreams about my future with Katie.
