Trevon pulled up to Dime's house and his heart sank. Red and blue police lights were flashing everywhere, casting sharp, twisting shadows across the street. Several police cars were parked out front, and the whole block was lit up with their glaring lights.

Neighbors crowded the sidewalk, their faces full of worry and curiosity. Police officers moved back and forth from the house, their radios crackling in the night air.

"What the fuck...?" Dime whispered, gripping the door handle, her heartbeat thudding in her ears. She turned to Trevon, her eyes wide.

Trevon's jaw clenched, his face darkening as he shook his head. "Stay close, Dime," he said, cutting the engine and stepping out. The last thing he needed was more trouble with the police, but seeing the chaos surrounding her house set his mind racing.

As they made their way through the crowd, neighbors parted, staring at Dime with a mix of pity and unease. One of the officers stepped forward, his badge glinting under the streetlights. "Miss, are you a resident of this home?" he asked, his tone measured but sympathetic.

"Yes, sir. What's going on? This is my mother's house," Dime answered, her voice shaking.

The cop nodded, a somber expression crossing his face. "It's an unfortunate situation, ma'am. Your home was shot up in a drive-by. No one was hurt, thankfully, but it looks like your house was the intended target. We found bullet casings on the front porch and shattered windows."

Dime's stomach dropped as her gaze flickered to Trevon, searching for answers. "My mom... where is she?"

"She was taken to the hospital," the officer explained, his tone softening. "She had a bad reaction, and her blood pressure spiked from the shock. The paramedics got to her quickly, but we'll need to ask you a few questions as well."

Dime's heart pounded as panic rose in her chest. "My mother's in the hospital? I don't have time for questions—I need to see her!"

The officer held up his hands, trying to calm her. "We understand, ma'am, and we can escort you to the hospital. But please, be aware that your family may be in danger. We'll need to follow up with you soon."

Before Dime could respond, Trevon stepped forward, his arm protectively wrapping around her shoulders, "Officer I'm a family friend, I can bring her to the hospital in case you guys need additional time to search around the area" he said firmly, steering Dime back toward his car before she could protest.

Once they were inside, Dime's tension boiled over. She turned to him, her voice full of fear. "Trevon.....you got ties in the streets, why would someone shoot up my crib?"

Trevon frowned, his mind racing. He knew exactly who was responsible for this. But why the fuck would East put him responsible , then go and take revenge upon himself?

He shook his head, keeping his eyes locked on the road.

"Dime, you gotta be honest with me. You really don't know where Trey is?"
