I met up with Lilah at a cozy café downtown

I met up with Lilah at a cozy café downtown. We used to be close friends back in the day, but after I became The Silencer, I had to distance myself from her to protect her. However, she has always been someone I could trust, and I know she has connections that I need.

We order some coffee and sit down at a small table by the window. As we catch up on each other's lives, Lilah tells me that there's a rumor going around that someone has put a bounty on my head.

"I heard that a bounty has been placed on you, and it's not a small one," Lilah says. If this is some kind of joke, I won't hesitate to put my knife in her throat. But her expression tells me she's not joking, and a chill runs down my spine. Who would be stupid enough to put a bounty on The Silencer? They must have a death wish.

I raise an eyebrow and let out a small chuckle. "Well, that's nothing new," I say, trying to downplay the situation. Lilah looks at me with concern in her eyes, but I reassure her that I've dealt with plenty of threats in the past. "So, who's behind this one?" I ask, taking a sip of my coffee.

Lilah shrugs. "Well, If you think it's out on the Silencer, I have to disappoint you, its out on you, like the real you girl." She says, her voice full of worry.

Her words make me feel like someone has just punched me in the face, why the hell would someone do that?

"I don't have all the details yet, but I'll find out soon enough. You know I always have my ear to the ground." She says, putting her hand on my shoulder with a concerned smile.

I place my cup on the table, lost in thought, when suddenly a memory comes rushing back. I recall attending the meeting with Zane and Saint, and how Vindicta had threatened me, saying I would pay for what I had done.

Although I have taken many lives in the past, have never done so without a valid reason. Even so, I cannot recall ever killing any of Vindicta's men. Before I undertake a mission, I always research my targets and assess the risks of possible retaliation from their associates. It would be foolish of me to kill any of Vindicta's men, as that would be asking to signing my own death.

"Lilah, I think I know who may have been responsible, so don't worry about it any longer. Thank you for your help, though." I take out my wallet and leave a large tip on the table in case Lilah wants to order anything else. I blow her a kiss before quickly leaving the café and getting into my car.

I call Victoria, Zane's girlfriend and an excellent hacker, for information.

"Vic, send me all the information you have on Saint Vindicta as soon as possible," I request. Victoria and Zane are staying at my mansion, and I trust Victoria with my life ever since she took a bullet for me.

"Sure thing. I don't care what kind of business you have with that fucker, just be careful. I'll send it via iMessage in under two minutes," she replies, with the sound of her chewing a gum in the background. It's irritating to hear her chew like a cow.
