I am walking along the beach in a white sundress. The sun is shining, there is a light breeze. Everything is peaceful, until the scenery changes: fire is surrounding me. The smell of smoke and blood, I look around everywhere, trying to find escape. I hear yelling, and then I realize that it is me.
"Avery?!" Hobbs shakes me. Startled, I sit up and realize I'm still in the plane with the rest of the crew. Everyone is asleep besides Hobbs. I touch my forehead and notice that I am drenched in sweat.
"I'm sorry, I had a horrible dream. Did I wake you?" I ask, worried.
"No, I normally can't sleep on airplanes. Are you sure that you are okay? Do you need some water or something?" He says. It's weird to see him so worried. He is normally tough as hell. Besides, I honestly don't matter. I am simply an extra on this crew.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Why are you so worried?" I had to ask, it is just so weird.
"I always worry about the people on my crew. We are a family." He said. We are a family. What? Did he just include me in his crew? He just said we are a family.
"You considered me family? Why? You've only known me for like 9 hours at the most. I'm sorry, it's just shocking. I can see that you are tough love type of person." I tell him. I am utterly shocked. You can't blame me though, he seemed like he couldn't stand me.
"In a way, you are like the little sister we have to keep an eye on. I know we haven't known each other long enough, but you're the only person that doesn't seem at all intimidated by me."
Without another word he got up and went to the other side of the plane and sat down, facing away from me. I keep thinking about what he said. Maybe he was just trying to get in my head. I try to dismiss the thought and distract myself. I wonder how much longer until we get there? I need to plan on how I am going to get away from Hobbs and his crew once we get to Rio. With that in mind, I plan away trying to not think about what Luke Hobbs just told me. Why must this be so difficult?!

I don't know when I fell asleep but when I woke up, everyone was up and talking about what they are going to do once we get there. "Hey, how long until we get there?" I ask one of the agents, I think his name is Fusco. "We'll touchdown in about 30 minutes." I say thanks and look out the window. It's still night out. Hobbs brings me out my thoughts before I can plan anything.
"All right, listen up. The men we're after are professional runners. They like speed and are guaranteed to go down the hardest possible way, so make sure you got your funderwear on. We find them, we take them as a team , and we bring them back. And above all else, we don't ever, ever let them get into cars. Crime scene is 10 hours old and counting, men. Let's go hunting. Avery, you're with me." Hobbs finishes his speech and I follow behind as the other four agents walk away.
A Brazilian cop calls out to Hobb, " Agente Hobbs! Chief of Police, João Alemeida." "Luke, and this is Avery O'Conner." As Hobbs introduces me, I awkwardly wave as I walk beside them. "I'm sorry to hear the loss of your men," the chief says. From what I know, Hobbs is only here because the of the DEA agents that were murdered during some type of train incident. I think someone was stealing cars, who knows? I was too busy thinking about escaping the wrath of Hobbs. Anyways, that's why we left the states so soon. It was because of the DEA agents that were murdered. They think that Brian and Dominic have something to do with this!
"Is all of this really necessary to apprehend two men?" The chief asks, making me take in the scene. There are Hummer like cars being loaded of the plane we were in, along with weapons and ammo. This is a little too much, but who am I to question this man's motives. I stashed ammo and two guns in my bag before walking off the plane just in case! Two semi-auto m1911 pistols and as much ammo as I could. I didn't want to take too much that it would look suspicious.
