Tripp decided, with the few coins he had, would visit the nearby inn for a meal. It had been several days since the pirate visited, and the boy had forgot the majority of the talk. Though, he had not forgotten of the blade he had been given.
The boy came upon the inn, and rushed in. A smirk on his face.
"Aye, Rush!" Tripp called to the bar-tender, "Bring me your finest meats and a cup of water!"
The bar-tender nodded, and Tripp sat down on the bar. Two men set beside him, talking about gossip.
"I heard that the grand pirate king was recently executed! Apparently the leaders of Averia killed him." The man who said this was a very handsome man, with long flowing hair.
The bald boy who sat beside him looked like a hawk, and had a quick reply, "Truly? He was said to be impossible to kill! Even the Grand Pirates could never kill him!"
The handsome man nodded.
Tripp received his food and munched happily. Then, he noticed Rush (the bar-tender) began to speak.
"So, boy," Rush spoke to Tripp, "I've not seen your parents lately, where have they gone?"
"They went on a trip to visit the Girisha Clan far inland." Tripp bit into the last of his meats as he finished his words.
"On what matters?" Rush asked.
The boy swallowed his meats, and had a swig of water. "You see, I am apart of the Ishya Clan, which represents the clan of the sea, whereas the Girisha Clan represents the mountains. It is said that the two clans were the strongest of Ishton - Ishton being our country, of course-, and they had a great war. In the war Ishton was nearly destroyed.
"The monarchy of Ishton decided the war must end. So, they forced a treaty between the two. The treaty says the leaders of the clan must meet every ten years. My parents are the leaders of the Ishya Clan, and had to go meet the Girisha Clan."
"Why did you not go with them?" Rush asked.
"I didn't want too. And, it didn't matter if I came, I play no part in the Clan yet. But, I am heir to be the leader once my dad dies."
"I see." A man entered the inn as Rush spoke.
He was a sloppy man, who had a pistol on his waist. His beard untrimmed and grizzly, and his hair was slick with salt water. And his stench, you could smell his saltiness from the other-side of the room.
He sat at the bar, and Rush asked if he wanted a drink. He ordered some meats & beer, and he ate for a while.
The two boys didn't even notice the man, and they kept talking about pirates.
"I heard a rumor that when they caught the 'King of Pirates,'" the handsome man began, "he only held seven swords, whereas he usually carries eight."
"Truly?" The bald boy said loudly, "That means one of his blades is out in the world somewhere!"
Tripp, was now listening intensely, for could the pirate he met five days ago be the "Pirate King?" Tripp couldn't help but say he had saw a pirate with eight swords five days ago.
The bald again said "Truly?!"
"Indeed! He even gave me his eighth blade!" Tripp said happily.
Now the long hair man said "You lie, boy. He was found in Wrevlend in a small sail boat, he couldn't of sailed that far in his boat."
"Well, I did meet a pirate with eight blades five days ago, and he gave me one."
"Then show us!" The bald man said.
Rush got into the conversation, "Tripp, just stay out of this."
Tripp, of course, did not. Jumping out of his chair he rushed out of the in & ran to his home, where in his small room found the blade resting on the ground. When he picked it up he saw a gold skull sealed on it, and the boy frowned, for he had not noticed the seal before. After a moment of staring at the beautiful gold skull, he ran back to the inn. Rushing through the streets he noticed a sly man look fondly of his beautiful blade. The boy took no caring to it.
He opened the inns doors, and lifted up the sword so all in the room could see. The two men sat in somewhat shock, yet still did not completely believe the pirate had given him the sword.
"Boy, how do we know a pirate gave you that?" The long haired man called.
"Yes! How do we know?!" The bald man repeated the handsome man's question in an annoying way.
Tripp didn't know what to say. There was no way Tripp knew of to persuade the men the pirate had given him the sword.
Finally, the long haired man broke the silence.
"Boy, let me study the blade." The handsome man asked.
Tripped walked over and sat the sword in front of the man, and he looked at it for several minutes, then, grabbed the sword and ran off with it.
All in the room were surprised, and none knew what to do. Tripp, after several moments, jumped up and began chasing the man.
