BANG! BANG! BANG!
my head quickly jolted from my pillow and I looked over at my door that is now being opened by my sister Louisa who we called wheezie for short.

wheezie is 13, the youngest of are family. everyone adores her which makes sense, she looks different then me, sarah, and rafe.
while the three of us had light brown almost blonde hair wheezie has dark curly hair paired with glasses.

"rose told me to tell you we are going to the country club in 20 minutes"
she says with the door cracked open.

I groan in response and plop my head back down on the pillow.
wheezie closed the door abruptly.

rose is my soon to be step-mom who is like the evil stepmother from cinderella. she is the worst. at this point i think she is only getting married to my dad for his money but that's a whole different conversation.

I stretched out of my bed as the sun from the large windows in my room shined on me.
I walked out of my room and walked down the narrow hallway and down the stairs.

I noticed nobody was downstairs. I wrapped around the kitchen and into the backyard where they were all eating breakfast.

our backyard faced the ocean and large willow tree making our patio shaded. i could see through the window that rose, wheezie, and sarah were all sitting at the table.

I opened the doors to the patio and nobody was fazed at all.

"good morning to you guys too" i say as i lean over the table to grab a piece of fruit off of wheezies plate.

everyone was neatly dressed as if they were going to a wedding.
while i was the odd one out with messy hair and a large t-shirt and basketball shorts I wore as pajamas.

rose tilted her sunglasses down at me
"you didn't even change yet? we are leaving in 5 minutes?!"

"yeah, yeah i know" i say pulling up a chair next to sarah and wheezie.

"you look rough" sarah said to me

"cause she was too busy smoking pot all night" rafe says turning the corner and also stealing a piece of fruit off of wheezies plate

wheezie shrunk down in her chair helplessly.

"oh yeah where did you come from? snorting coke with your lame friends" i said making a face at rafe

"oh your so de-" r
"hey! hey! both of you be quiet" rose says intervening between us.

rafe looked at me and narrowed his eyes at me as he quickly went inside.

everyone went silent and got distracted by their phones or their food.

the sun shined directly into my eyes as i quickly put my hand over my face to block it.
"gosh were are my sunglasses" i say looking on the table

"I think I saw them on the boat this morning" wheezie said popping a bite of pancake into her mouth

I stood up and walked past the willow tree and walked down the long dock.
I started to approach the boat when i heard rustling noises coming from inside the boat.

"John B. hurry up!" i heard someone whisper

"i'm trying!" i heard someone whisper back

I turned the corner to see tall tan boy with semi long curly hair looking for something with his back turned to me

his friend who was blonde and quite muscular saw me and his face quickly went blank
"uh john B." the blonde boy said

"what JJ!? what?!" the tan one said angrily as he turned around and saw me and his face drew blank too

"um can I help you guys?"

"um.. uh. no we were just uhh" the blonde one said looking at the other one for help

"we were just uh.. looking for some fuel! we ran out of fuel for our boat" the tan one said pointing to a small boat the blonde one was standing on.

"then why are you holding my scuba diving gear?" i say pointing to his hand

"uh.. no reason"

i looked at both of them and they looked guilty but i honestly could care less about the boat.

"could you hand me my glasses over on the table please?" i asked John B

he cautiously hands them to me and i put them on over my eyes.
they were still waiting for me to say or do something.

"look.. i didn't see you guys and you didn't see me dressed like this" i say giving them a peace sign and walking back down the dock

I made it up to the patio where they were starting to clean up breakfast

Sarah handed me an empty plate
"what took you so long?" she said stacking plates

"oh I just knocked over something i got it cleaned up though" I said lying

"good cause if rose saw that mess she would kill you"
sarah said opening the door

"yeah you think I don't know that already" i laughed as we walked inside

rose walked down the stairs
"ophelia?! your still not dressed!? I laid out one of sarah dressed on your bed because you are not going out like that" she says pointing me up and down

I rolled my eyes and ran up the stairs and into my room. a navy blue summer dress with a floral pattern was laid neatly on my bed.

as I got changed I ran downstairs to see everyone waiting for me

"look at that!" sarah said smiling at me

"wow ophelia I haven't seen you wear a dress in like a billion years!" wheezie said

I rolled my eyes at them then walked to the car.
