I fix my eyes on the woman standing in front of me, Mrs. Hemmings, or Liz as she always wants me to call her. She looks slightly stressed, it's probably because they're about to leave on a plane to a different country where they've never been before.

"Hi!" I chirp at her, standing outside her door waiting to do probably the most courageous and stupid thing i've ever even thought of doing. Her eyes light up immediately when she sees me and a warm smile spreads across her face, "Aria darling! of course, he's just packing up in his room you can go up and see him if you want, this must be pretty hard for you, leaving your best friend forever." she smiles sadly and I nod my head. One things for sure it's going to be even sadder if this doesn't work out.

I mumble a quick thank you and dart up to Luke's room. I just stand there for a minute, thinking if maybe this isn't a good idea, maybe i should just go back and forget that I ever had this idea.

No, i have to do this, it's been stressing me out for months and months.

I close my eyes and walk into Luke's room, not wanting to see him at the moment because if I do i will probably chicken out like I always have.

"Luke, I know your leaving soon, before you leave I just wanted to tell you that- I'm in love with you, I always have been and nothing can change tha-" I open my eyes and realise that i'm not alone with Luke in here. A pretty blonde in Luke's arms and lipstick is smudged all over his face.

I stand there in shock and my eyes start to water. I should've known that he would never like me back, this was a stupid idea. I fucking hate myself, and Luke for ruining my life with his stupid smile and blonde fluffy hair.

the blondie scoffs and gives me a dirty look, "Your loser friend thinks she actually has a chance with MY boyfriend. You're nothing but an ugly slut, Aria."

"How long have you kept this from me Luke." I say, my voice shaking with Rage and sadness. He doesn't answer me and looks back over at his 'girlfriend' with a guilt ridden face. "Answer me!" I shout, loosing my cool.

"5 months'' he mutters quietly and blondie laughs and kisses him straight on the lips again while Luke looks uncomfortable.

"Aren't you going out with that Calum guy anyway?" She snorts. "Oh no, your just friends. He would never like you anyway, no-one would."

I look over at Luke for some help, but he just stays quiet. My heart was ripped in two at that very moment. "Fuck you Luke." I say, now crying, and storm out of the house, leaving Liz very confused.

First my ex boyfriend cheating on me, then my best friend Alicia turned against me and became my worst nightmares, and now Luke? One things for sure, i'm never trusting anyone again. Ever.

*~*~*~*~*~**~Present Day*~*~*~~*~*

"Come on Aria cheer up, its a new start, you can become a new person!"

I look over at Calum and roll my eyes. "Cal, it's the beginning of the term. I didn't bloody move to Antartica." I laugh.

"Oh well at least i tried. Anyway i heard there's a new guy coming this year." He smirks, drawing my full attention to him. We hardly ever get new people so this is going to be interesting.

"Really?"

"Yeah, and I knew that would get your attention." He laughs, although i think he's partially excited too. His face drops for a seconds, he stops walking in the corridor and turns to me. "Ari, how long has it been since Luke moved again."

My smile drops too, I hate talking about Luke. Why couldn't everyone just let it go already for gods sake.

"2 years Calum, Its been 2 years. I was 15 and now i'm 17. Let it go already." Suddenly my mood has changed, I never call calum by his full name unless i'm angry. He knows it too.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine."I cut him off.

We wander the corridors of school for a while not really saying anything but just letting ourselves get consumed by our thought. I loved that I could do that with Calum and it was never awkward.

"Hey guys what class do you have first?" My other best friend Ashton comes up from behind us. I only really have two friends, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin but we're all pretty close. I did have a whole group of girl friends, but they turned on me. Thankfully Calum and Ashton were there with open arms.

"Mathematics" Calum and I say at the same time and Ashton nods. "Okay cool same."

We all walk down the corridor to our classroom when we notice a big group of people surrounding something or someone. "What's that?" I ask Ash, who had an angry look on his face which was a big change from 30 seconds ago when he was his happy self.

"The new guy." He muttered and looked over at Calum. Calum's jaw dropped and he started to swear. That's something Cal and Ash had always been able to do, they had this whole communication thing that only they could understand, i actually found it really fascinating how they did it.

"What? What is it?" i asked puzzled.

"Nothing, never mind. Lets go to class." Calum said and started pushing me away, having a really tight grasp on my arm.

"Cal your hurting me." I say and he drops my arm.

"Sorry." he mumbles and they both take a seat at the back of the massive Maths classroom. I take a seat next to Calum on one side and there was a spare chair beside me to the right.

"Okay class be quiet!" the maths teacher claps her hands and everyone groans. "We have a new student!" She says and Calum and Ashton fidget in their seats.

A tall blonde boy walks in the room and every girl's eyes are fixed on him. He was very attractive to say the very least, hell he could pass as a model any day. He has piercing blue eyes and his hair was styled into a quiff. He also had a lip piercing which I thought made him look so much hotter and he was wearing a plain black tee and ripped skinny jeans with converse. Damn he looked fine.

"You can sit next to.. Aria." The teacher pointed to the same seat next to me, hell yeah!

It looks like he knew who I was for a moment which was weird because I've never seen him before. He took the seat beside me and he smirked at all the girls who had their attention focused on him. He's probably an egotistical jerk player guy or something.

"This is Luke Hemmings, our new.. well returning student. If you remember him then don't forget to welcome him back."

That's when I froze in my seat. Luke is back. The one who i loved so much and he broke me. The reason why I couldn't sleep for days on end, the reason why i don't trust anyone apart from Calum and Ashton. He was back. So that's why my friends were acting so weird before.

The teacher was babbling on about one thing or another, but I just couldn't concentrate.

"uh, Hey Ari." I looked over at Luke who was nervously smiling. "you look different."

I just stared at him for a moment not sure how to reply. "It's Aria, not Ari. Only my friends call me that." He looked shocked for a few moments, then he turned away like nothing happened.
