My eyes go between Raphael and Aphra. They both stare at me with the same calm expression. I narrowed my eyes. I shifted my body so I wasn't in the position I was in when I tried to crawl away. I then slowly stood up. Raphael was surprisingly really short. A little shorter than me. The little girl was down to my hips. It then hit me. I don't know why the realization just kicked in. Maybe it's because I was too focused on the crescent or something else, but now I realize these weren't human. My heart stopped beating, and I went to grip my chest. Raphael noticed my sudden movement and frowned.

"Kita, are you alright?" He asked. His raspy voice sliced through my ears hauntingly. I frowned. No. I wasn't alright. None of this was alright.
"I...I do have some questions. Yeah." I answered his early question from before. I don't know why I answered so late, but well, what do I care? I looked at Aphra, who just stared at me with a bored expression. She let out a small sigh and looked up at Raphael, who glanced at her briefly before looking back at me.
"We expected that much and -" "Who are y'all? What are you all? Are you two just a bunch of crackheads that somehow decided to go to my apartment as a shelter home? Or...what are y'all, better question. What was that red rope that tripped me? Why is my signal out? Why do I have this crescent on me? Why is my bathroom mirror broken? Just please tell me! I want to know! I need to know!" As I started to blurt out all of the questions I had kept buried in me, my voice turned into a begging-like tone.
Raphael doesn't answer my questions. He went quiet. Aphra narrowed her eyes up at me. I gave her a frustrated glare. I was so sick and tired of this. Not even two days. I suddenly remembered them calling someone Ciarea. I looked up at Rapheal. "Who is Ciarea?" I asked, my voice went quiet.
"Why, he is your soulmate, of course." He answered. I widened my eyes. I laughed. Raphael looked confused and tilted his head. "What do you find so amusing?"
"That a crazy person..or demon.. whatever the hell you are, thinks that this random man, Ciarea, is my soulmate?" I suppressed my laughter, and my voice was now a bit serious and questioning. The looks on Aphra's and Raphael's faces told me they weren't joking. I went quiet again. "Okay, he's my soulmate. I don't believe you. But that also doesn't answer my question! Who is he?" I pleaded for them to answer, but they never did. Finally, after what seemed like forever, Aphra spoke, "Orders from Lord Ciarea, we are not to tell you anything until he has arrived. When he arrives, only then shall you have your unanswered questions answered."

I clenched my jaw, narrowed my eyes, and glared at them. I crossed my arms over my chest. "Well? When will he arrive? Why is he called Lord?" I asked. I didn't know if I'd get an answer because from what I just heard, I most likely wasn't going to get them for a while. Raphael looked at me. "If I am being honest with you, Kita, we don't know. The Lord comes and goes. This is only my 3rd time being on earth. This is Aphra's second." He said, looking down at Aphra, who widened her eyes and gave him a warning look. "Should we be telling this mortal OUR lives?" She scowled.
Raphael sighed. "It should be fine." He then looked back at me. I frowned. "If you didn't know, yes, me and Aphra are demons. We've been alive longer than most of your ancient ancestors' lives combined."
My eyes narrowed at his words. He had just confirmed my suspicions. So they were demons. Meaning, that their 'Lord Ciarea' must be their leader. I don't know if these demons are the same ones who caused all those deaths, but now I want to know. "Can you tell me anything about...the crescent?" I said, lifting my shirt. Nothing could be seen, but from Raphael's face and Aphra's face, obviously something was there. Raphael sighed. He looked at Aphra and shrugged. He looked back at me. "That's a demon marking crescent. Yours, however, is not seeable to the human eye, thus making it practically invisible to you and every other human around you." He explained.
I raised an eyebrow. So, this marking and the website are all true. I shivered a bit before looking at Raphael. "But, I've been able to see it before. When I looked into my bathroom mirror before, I was about to take a shower. The weird thing is it's never been like that before." I said. Aphra glanced at Raphael. Raphael didn't look at her. He kept his gaze on me.
"That was us. We apologize deeply for that." He bowed, "We used the mirror as a portal from the underworld to Earth, given by Lord Ciarea. You must have been able to see the crescent because the mirror was also aligned with the underworld." He explained.
My eyes widened, and I looked at Aphra and Rapheal. Portal? Underworld? All of this crazy talk is making my head hurt. I shook my head and tried to understand. "Wait, wait, wait...so you two made a portal from the underworld to Earth, gifted by Ciarea because.....?" I asked.
Raphael sighed. "Well, like we said before. We are here to look after you and protect you while Lord Ciarea is away."
I furrowed my eyebrows. I'm starting to think I'll never actually understand, even if I do understand. Raphael placed his hand on Aphra's head. He said something in his other language. She said something back. They went quiet for a moment. Aphra sighed and looked up at me. "I deeply apologize." She said quietly, not in her usual commanding tone.
I raised an eyebrow. There were many reasons why she might be sorry, but I could name a few.
Aphra looked at Raphael and then at me. "I broke your mirror. I was angry before going through the portal and acted out. I used my Scarlett swirl on it. The portal is broken now, and so is your mirror." She explained.
Well, I guess that's one question down. Now that I know how the mirror was broken. I glanced at her silver coiled bracelet wrapped around her arm and guessed that her Scarlett swirl was that red rope that tripped me.
