chapter 03 - ☆ ☆ ☆ // pilot

"Hey! Put that conventionally attractive male down."

"...Uzi, raise your standards."

You both looked over to N who was waving like a little kid, and Uzi elbowed him which only earned a sound of pain from him.

"Oof! Oh, uh, J? You're sometimes kind of mean to me and I wish you weren't. Just some constructive criticism."

"Nice."

Uzi, you and N fist bumped each other, before V tossed Thad away and J spoke up.

"Noted, traitor. We'll circle back after I right-size your existence."

"Okay, which one do you want?"

"J, please."

"Too bad, good luck."

"Uzi, he has a literal crush on the other one—"

Your fit of whispers together were cut off when Uzi took out a pen and threw it at J, and it punctured the headband of nanite acid, the glass shattering everywhere. J screamed and Uzi dragged you to run, yet you looked back at N who seemed nervous to fight the one he's in love with.

J held her hand to her wound and turned her arm into a gun, blindly shooting bullets as you blocked the ones coming right at you with your bat, but Uzi fell back after an impact forced her to.

"Damn, the well-made, quality-assured durability of JC Jenson products! Huh?" J cried as she pulled the pen out of her headband, before being kicked by Uzi on the same nanite acid headband as well as her visor being pierced with the pen.

Uzi landed next to you as you shook your head, looking at her smug expression.

"Damn, at least let the girl catch a break—"

You ducked just in time as a laser-like force went over both of your heads. Probably from V.

You looked at N to see his gun held out, only for... Hearts to bubble out?

"Ah! My mind's in a weird place! Don't read into this!"

A missile landed right next to N and it exploded, yet J pulling out the pen once more brought your focus back to her. She crushed the object before she spotted you both, and raised her arm with some weird gun looking thing that had a blue electricity emitting from it while cackling mischievously.

It released some sort of energy which powered off Uzi, making her fall to the ground while your visor began to glitch as you were drifting from in and out of consciousness. You fell on your knees and dropped your bat, hearing the footsteps of J approaching.

Your body was hurting. It felt like your organs were being ripped out. Your eyes were glitching from that yellow to the white you always had. You could barely move.

"(Y/N)! Uzi!" You heard N call out, hearing him mutter an apology before V crashed to the ground.

Uzi was still powered off and you were going to reach out to the railgun, but J's foot kicked it away from you.

"You've got a lot of guts for a barely sentient toaster. I've had prey fight back before, but your edgy spirit is just so... Painful?!" J teased as you kept your head hung low, hiding your face from her view, but you had stabbed her with her own tail filled with nanite acid.

Your visor stopped glitching and your eyes returned to normal, and Uzi seemed to slowly power back on.

"Gah! Fourth quarter profits! Mother of company leadership retreats!" J hopped back and slipped on a few pebbles, giving you the chance to scramble up and get Uzi's railgun.

You pointed it at J while you loomed over her, a stern expression on your face as you watched Uzi get up from your side view, handing her the gun because you do not trust yourself with it.

"One more buzzword and I'll do it."

"...Equity partnersh—"

You looked away, shielding your face from the large explosion of neon green, before noticing J's body had burnt away. Uzi spat on what was left, before the sounds of cheering and applause erupted the area.

An error screen flashed on both you and Uzi's visor, and Uzi fell back while you stood your ground for a second before faltering, too. Uzi was brought up onto N's shoulders while he held you in a bridal carry. It took you a bit longer to wake up fully, but you could faintly make out Thad talking to Uzi and N.

However, Khan cleared his throat and looked at Uzi, and you finally found yourself capable of listening in now. For like a few seconds anyway, because the sound of a wrench clanging against the ground ruined your hearing once more because your ears started ringing.

However, you did know that there was some moment that brought Uzi some sort of sorrow or anger, because Uzi's bite me counter showed up again.

One thing lead to another and N flew out of the bunker with you, Uzi and V, who was tied up.

The sun was out as you sat next to N in the spire of corpses, before he peeked out to Uzi.

"I'd join you if the sun didn't kill me, hope you're having important character growth or something though!"

"Just can't wait to murder all humans. Classic robot stuff. I hope they're sitting pretty there on Earth. 'Cause we're coming for them."

After Uzi was done talking, she burst into a fit of evil laughter, cackling like she was the main villain of a story. You shook your head, staring at the snow instead.

Seems like Uzi was going through her villain arc after she got banished.

☆ is this chapter shorter because i skipped a bunch of dialogue sighh (prepare for heartbeat!)
