chapter 07 - ☆ ☆ // cabin fever

The arrow was held up in the air as you stared at it in horror, noticing how all eyes were on you at the moment. You were alerted when Uzi's screen displayed high temp and she almost fell backwards, but started full on panicking when you lost control of your solver.

It started glitching from light blue to light yellow, your eyes doing the same. You put a hand to your head out of instinct due to the pain, and watched as the arrow turned into this... Red liquid as it exploded.

Your eyes were glitching, but you could see the mess you had created. Some... Ugly, familiar looking flesh creature was made from the arrow, and you stepped back as you watched Uzi try to get rid of it with her own solver, but only made it bigger.

You looked up and saw V staring at the said flesh creature with a mortified expression, before you stepped back once again. You could hear Uzi talking and her gaze on you, but it was all a blur to you.

You teleported into the forest without another thought, keeping yourself isolated as you broke into a nearby building, trying to catch your breath.

You let out a pained whimper as you blocked the door up with whatever there was in the room. You fell onto your knees as even the slightest bit of sound triggered you. You glanced at your arm, wondering if you should bite into yourself and just make this suffering go away. Even for the smallest bit of time.

You let out another cry of pain as the static from a monitor had brightened, as well as the sound of a clock ticking. It irritated you so much.

You tried to tear off the clock from the wall, but the door burst open. You kept your head in your hands as you didn't even bother to check out who had come inside.

Everything was ringing. It felt like your insides were being burnt up. The sound of rapid footsteps only irritated you even more when they rapidly approached.

It was someone's voice you were hearing. It had a gentle yet panicky tone to it. But when they touched you, your body flinched as you slowly looked over to the drone near you. Your surroundings were a blur and you could barely see yellow eyes.

Yellow eyes...?

Yellow eyes...!

You quickly used your solver to push away the person near you, sending them crashing against the wall harshly.

It was her again. The one that— That stupid, good for nothing robot that should've been discarded such a long time ago... Why is she back?

You got on your feet slowly, letting go of your head as you kept it hung low. Despite the sight of your high temperature, you resisted eating the drone with whatever part of yourself you had control of. You took shaky steps as your eyes glitched from a light blue X, the high temperature signal and then your solver symbol in light blue.

There was someone calling out to you, but you used your solver to slam them against the wall again, desperate for silence. Whatever decency you had left in you slipped away, as you fell on your knees again.

Wings in the shade of a muted blue had grown out from your back, and a tail that glowed light blue and had a mouth appeared, swaying from the left and right. Your white eyes were replaced with a light blue solver triangle.

You were starving.

Your temperature was high.

You needed to eat.

You smelt oil.

You stalked your prey from the skies as you stared down at a group of drones sitting around a campfire, a strong scent of oil hitting you.
