The sky darkened, and a chill had settled over them. The large screen flickered in the darkness, casting a glow over the audience. Everyone was completely absorbed in the film. Mason was busy munching on the snacks Kie had brought, already done with the ones he stashed from Kie's house. Mason's eyes were glued to the screen, when Pope whispered, "Guys," looking at Mason and JJ shifting uncomfortably where he stood."Yeah?" Mason asked, sipping his drink, his eyes glued to the screen, fully immersed in the movie.
"I gotta take a piss" Pope muttered.
JJ turned his head, giving Pope a disapproving look. "Hold it," he said flatly.
"I can't hold it" Pope whispered back, shifting in his seat "I drank too much soda"
Mason finally tore his eyes away from the screen, giving both of them a side-eye. "It's too exposed. They'll see us," JJ said, glancing over at Mason.
"I gotta go" Pope repeated, his voice edged with urgency. Mason let out an exaggerated sigh, clearly annoyed.
Mason glanced around, noticing the Kooks sitting by the bathrooms. "They're blocking the bathrooms" Pope whispered, echoing Mason's thoughts.
JJ clicked his tongue, and with a glance at Pope, he quickly made up his mind. "Come on. I know where," he said, getting up from his seat. Both Pope and Mason quickly followed.
"Where are y'all going?" Kie asked, eyebrows raised as she watched them stand.
"We gotta wrong it out," JJ hurriedly remarked over his shoulder.
"What? You gonna hold it for each other?" Kie asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes as she watched the boys walk away.
Walking behind the large outdoor screen, they slipped into the shadows. Pope and JJ quickly unbuckled their pants, finding a secluded tree. Not needing to go, Mason kept watch, his eyes darting around for any sign of trouble.
Pope let out a long sigh of relief. "This feels better than a blowjob," he said half-jokingly and half-serious.
JJ smirked glancing at Pope, "Like you know what that feels like."
Mason couldn't help but snicker. "This feels better than what 8 imagine a blowjob would feel like." He snorted, shaking his head at the absurdity.
JJ zipped up his pants and joined Mason. "Did you bring the peacemaker?" Pope questioned, his voice tight and low.
"Oh shit," JJ murmured, realization dawning on him. "I forgot"
Pope's face twisted in disbelief. "You forgot?" he asked, voice rising slightly. "Dude, you had one job! That's all I asked you to do, man."
"Hurry up! Hurry up!" Mason ushered, looking around nervously. "Guys, seriously, let's go back."
Pope nodded reluctantly, zipping up his pants and straightening himself. Mason noticed Rafe walking towards him, his face as arrogant as ever.
"What's up, Pogues?" Rafe asked, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
The boys instinctively take a step back, still facing Pope. "What's up, Rafe?" JJ asked, his tone nonchalant.
"How you guys doin' tonight?" Rafe asked, his smirk growing wider. Mason moved closer to Jj, grabbing his brother's shirt and pulling him behind him, standing protectively in front.
"Don't you have a bar mitzvah to get to?" Mason shot at Rafe, his eyes narrowing.
"I wanna talk," Rafe replied, ignoring Mason's comment. Pope, sensing where this was headed, tried to sprint off in the other direction, but Topper and Kelce quickly intercepted him.
