The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over Demetrio Academy. Majestic buildings with ivy-covered walls stood proudly, and students milled about the campus, laughter, and chatter filling the air. For M, today marked the beginning of her journey. Having just arrived with her family's last reserve of finances dedicated to her education, she felt a mix of excitement and anxiety.

M was determined to make this opportunity count. With her mother's health deteriorating and her father's absence weighing heavily on her shoulders, she had promised herself that she would do whatever it took to support her family. Education was her only ticket to a better life.

She clutched her backpack tightly, her eyes scanning the campus for her friend Stella, who had promised to meet her at the fountain. It was a large, ornate structure at the heart of the university, surrounded by blooming flowers. The vibrant colors reminded her of the little garden her mother tended back home.

"M!" Stella called, waving enthusiastically as she approached, her long hair swaying with each step.

"I can't believe we're finally here! Are you ready for this?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," M replied, forcing a smile despite the butterflies in her stomach.

As they chatted, M couldn't shake the feeling that this place was different. The atmosphere buzzed with a strange energy, and she felt a sense of foreboding. Little did she know that the world she was stepping into was filled with complexities that would challenge her in ways she had never imagined.

Within the first few days of classes, M quickly learned the hierarchy of Demetrio Academy. At the top of that hierarchy was Lucifer, a name that sent shivers down the spines of many students. He was the quintessential bad boy—dark, brooding, and utterly captivating. With his tousled hair and piercing green eyes, he could have anyone he wanted, yet he chose to walk the campus alone, shrouded in mystery.

One afternoon, while navigating the crowded hallways, M accidentally bumped into him. Books tumbled from her arms, scattering across the floor.

"Watch where you're going," he snapped, his voice low and dangerous.

M looked up her heart racing. "I—I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to..."

Lucifer's gaze softened for just a moment before he turned away, leaving M flustered and embarrassed. But as she gathered her books, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to him than met the eye.

As days turned into weeks, M found herself entangled in the university's social fabric. She quickly befriended Stella and a few others, but it wasn't long before they crossed paths with Galicia, the so-called Queen B of everyone. Galicia had a reputation for being ruthless, and she set her sights on M.

"What do you think you're doing here, scholarship girl?"

Galicia sneered one day, cornering M in the cafeteria.

"This is a place for the elite, not for people like you."

M stood tall, refusing to back down.

"I'm here to learn, just like everyone else. I won't let you intimidate me."

Galicia laughed, a chilling sound that echoed through the cafeteria.

"We'll see how long that attitude lasts," she warned before strutting away, leaving M unsettled.

Lucifer watched the exchange from a distance, intrigued. He had seen M stand up to Galicia, something few dared to do. His interest in her grew, though he would never admit it.
