The early morning at Jujutsu Tech was marked by a serene yet purposeful atmosphere. As the first light of dawn began to spread, the campus slowly came to life. The sunlight, soft and golden, bathed the buildings and training grounds in a gentle glow, creating a picturesque scene that hinted at the promise of the day ahead.
Birds chirped melodiously, their calls harmonizing with the soft hum of insects, crafting a natural symphony that filled the air. Occasionally, the sound of footsteps could be heard, as students and teachers made their way through the grounds, each step a testament to the anticipation and readiness for the day's endeavors. The air was refreshingly crisp, carrying with it the subtle scent of morning dew and the earthy aroma of the surrounding greenery, a reminder of the peaceful, natural environment that enveloped the school.
In the distance, a few early risers were already starting their training routines, their silhouettes moving through the grounds with precision and focus. The morning air seemed to carry a sense of determination and motivation, as if daring everyone to push themselves further than the day before.
This daily scene at Jujutsu Tech was a testament to the disciplined lifestyle that the institution demanded, a routine that would shape and harden these students into the next generation of powerful sorcerers. But for now, the morning was a moment of peaceful solitude, a small lull before the storm.
In the dimly lit room, Megumi lay asleep in his bed, his face relaxed and peaceful in his slumber. The covers were tossed aside, revealing his lean, muscular frame beneath a simple shirt and trousers.
His dark hair, usually neatly styled, was tousled and disheveled from sleep, with a few unruly strands falling across his forehead. The soft, steady rise and fall of his chest was indicative of his deep, restful state. Every once in a while, an involuntary twitch or murmur would betray a dream or thought passing through his mind, but he remained blissfully unaware of his surrounding.
The room was still, except for the faint, rhythmic sound of his breathing. The morning sunlight was just starting to filter through the cracks in the blinds, casting elongated shadows over the room. The air was cool and crisp, a welcome relief from the heat of the previous day.
Megumi showed no sign of stirring yet, content to linger in the realm of blissful oblivion for just a few moments longer before the day's responsibilities called him back to consciousness.
The peaceful stillness of the room was broken by the sudden, shrill buzz of a phone ringing. The sound was grating and persistent, cutting through the silence like a knife. Megumi's eyes opened slowly at the annoying alarm, groggily taking in his surroundings.
The phone lay on the bedside table, the screen illuminating to announce the incoming call.
Megumi groaned, his hand reaching out to grab the phone and bring it to his ear and answer without even glancing at the screen. He was not a morning person, and even less cheerful with unexpected calls jolting him out of sleep.
"Hello...?" he mumbled, his voice gravelly and rough from sleep. He sat up in bed, rubbing a hand across his face to chase away the lingering remnants of the dream he had been having.
"Rise and shine, sleepyhead!" Satoru's overly-peppy voice rang out from the other end of the line, a stark contrast to Megumi's groggy morning state. "I see you've decided to join us in the land of the living!"
Satoru's voice was obnoxiously enthusiastic over the phone, his attitude being way too annoyingly energetic so early in the morning.
Megumi let out a heavy sigh, his hand on his forehead as if to rub away the sudden pain of Satoru's overly cheery voice this early in the morning, already feeling his patience wearing thin after just barely waking up moments ago. "Why are you like this?"
