Uncle Tim

Info:Tim and Lucy split but have a 12 year old daughter named Olivia
Its Tims first night with their daughter since they split up he got a small apartment for the two of them  he walked up to her room to check on her settling in
Tim:hey Livy
O:hey dad
Tim:you doing ok in here
O:im ok dad you don't have to worry about me
Tim:ill always worry about you baby
O:i know
Tim:dinner will be ready in just a bit ok
O:ok
He walked off to the kitchen and continued to make dinner for her he was still trying to get used to the quiet in the kitchen just as he was pulling the food out of the oven there was a knock on the door
O:i got it dad
Tim:thanks sweetie
She went to the door and opened it
O:aunt Genny
Genny:hey Livy
O:come to check on dad again
Genny:don't put it like that infront of him but yeah
Olivia smiled she knew her dad didn't like being vulnerable so she appreciated her aunt for being there for him
O:he's in the kitchen
They both walk in and to the kitchen
Genny:hey
Tim:hey thought you had the boys tonight
Genny:their at a birthday thing for a friend ill pick them up in a bit
Tim:ah well your welcome to join us for dinner
Genny:thanks
They sat down and ate together all making small jokes
O:well im tired im gonna head to bed night aunt Genny
G:night sweetheart
O:night dad love you
Tim:i love you too baby goodnight
She walked off and Tim started cleaning up
Genny:how you holding up
Tim:im ok its a big change but im working through it
Genny:well you always have me im one phone call away
Tim:thanks Gen
They sat there and talked for an hour
Genny:i have to go get the boys
Tim:ok goodnight
She left and he decided to pop his head in Olivia's room and check on her he saw her blanket fell off the bed onto the floor so he picked it up and put it over her and laid a kiss to her head
Tim:love you baby
He walked out of her room and went to his and got ready for bed
The next morning
Tim:hey Livy time to get up for school baby
O:ok
She got up and got dressed and did her little morning routine while Tim got ready for work and made breakfast
O:thanks for breakfast dad
Tim:of course sweetie
He pulled out a little bracelet
Tim:i got you something
O:aww its pretty thank you dad
Tim:your welcome
O:any reason you got it
Tim:figured you could use a gift its been alot of change i just wanted to do something special for you
She walked around the counter to him and hugged him
O:i love you
Tim:i love you too so much
O:you ok dad
Tim:im ok babygirl lets get you to school ok
O:ok she slipped the bracelet on and grabbed her backpack and they left he went to work after dropping her off
Ang:hey
Tim:hey
Ang:how you feeling
Tim:feeling
Ang:right dumb question
Tim:its ok im ok Livy is ok or as ok as it can be at the moment
Ang:how long you have her
Tim:until Friday
Ang:you know you can always take time off get your new life together
Tim:i know but if i do that right now i feel like ill just fall into a pit of depression
Ang:fair enough
Tim:i have moved on to guilt buying now
Ang:what did you get Livy
Tim:a bracelet nothing fancy or expensive but she loved it made her happy
Ang:she doesn't hate you
Tim:i know im just processing it all
Ang:i know
Tim:ill see you later i gotta change before im late
Ang:ok
He went and changed out and headed to roll call him and Lucy didn't end bitter their still friends unfortunately they just weren't working out anymore seeing her in roll call was the one time he could see she was ok other then pickups for Olivia after roll call he went and started getting his shop ready
Lucy:hey
Tim:hey
Lucy:so i need you to sign this its for Olivias school
Tim:what for
Lucy:some kind of school trip they want both parents signatures when the parents are separated
Tim:ah ok yeah no problem
He signed the paper and handed it back to her
Lucy:thanks
Tim:of course anything for Livy
Lucy:yeah i got to get back to work
Tim:ok see you later
She walked off and he went out on patrol
A few hours later he was changing out so he could go get Olivia from school and go home
Tim:how was school Livy
O:good they asked for my permission slip for my school trip but i left it at moms
Tim:i can take you to get it your mom has it at work she had me sign it earlier
O:ok thanks
Tim:your welcome
He drove her to the station and they both walked in and to Lucy
Lucy:hi baby
O:hi mama
Lucy:what are you doing here
O:i need my permission slip for my trip dad said you had it
Lucy:yeah here you go signed by both of us
O:thank you
Lucy:your welcome i have to get back to work but ill see you Friday ok
O:ok love you
Lucy:love you too
Olivia and Tim left and went home
O:i have so much homework
Tim:why's that
O:every teacher assigned it today plus i have to do corrections on a paper
Tim:what for
O:bump my grade up
Tim:what did you get
O:literally one point from passing its really frustrating
Tim:sorry baby
O:its whatever
Tim looked at his daughter and couldn't help but wonder if her school was being affected by all this change
Tim:well i will help you as much as i can ok
O:thanks dad
Friday night
Tim:you got everything
O:yeah
Tim:ok be good for your mom i love you
O:love you too dad
He gives her a hug then lets her go so she can go with Lucy he watches until the car is out of sight then heads back inside his apartment and sits on the couch
Tims mind:just me great
He pulls out his phone and dials Angelas number
Ang:hey
Tim:hey you busy
Ang:no im bored
Tim:well you can come be bored here and hang out with me
Ang:Liv left
Tim:yeah
Ang:ill be there in 15
Tim:thanks Ang
Ang:no problem
He sat around waiting for Ang to show up
Ang:ok im here
Tim:hey
Ang:so what are we doing
Tim:no clue
Ang:well we can play games watch a movie drink
Tim gave a small laugh
Tim:as good as that sounds right now we have work in the morning
Angela:thought you were off on weekends
Tim:just the ones i have Olivia
Angela:ah
Tim:this new normal is just weird im used to having Livy around im used to being a boyfriend i don't know who i am or what to do with just me
Ang:yeah i may not have gone through this but i remember my mom going through it after my dad left she was used to being a wife cooking cleaning taking care of  us it all changed after
Tim:can i ask you something
Ang:sure
Tim:you were the kid in that situation i guess im just wondering what Olivia might be feeling
Ang:thats a tough one i know for me i questioned if it was my fault he left i questioned if maybe him and mom hadn't had us kids if he would of stayed with her but just because thats how i felt doesn't mean thats how Livy feels
Tim:yeah
Ang:you worried about her
Tim:i guess im just worried she says shes fine shes happy but im scared shes hiding her feelings
Ang:maybe or maybe she just genuinely wants you and her mom to be happy and that makes her happy
Tim:why does that actually kinda calm me down
Angela:because if shes happy your happy
Tim:true
Angela:can i ask you a question
Tim:sure
Ang:why did you never propose to Lucy
Tim:honestly fear i was terrified at the thought of getting married again
Ang:you didn't want what happened the first time to happen again
Tim:yeah and now that im listening to myself i sound like a selfish ass
Ang:no your not and i promise you Lucy doesn't think that either
Tim:is this the part where you tell me if its meant to be it will happen
Ang:well i wasn't gonna say it but you did so
Tim chuckled a little
Tim:see who needs some no nothing therapist when i have you
Ang:right
Tim:seriously though thanks

The next day at Angelas after work
Wesley:what are you doing with Emmy
Angela:uncle Tim needs a little pick me up so i was gonna take her over
Wesley:ooh and Jacks at a sleepover kid free
Angela:yep
An hour later
Tims cleaning up the apartment a little when theres a knock
Tim:hey Ang hey my Emmy girl
Ang:care to babysit
Tim:sure uncle Tim will always watch her
Angela hands over her 3 year old to Tim
Ang:have fun
Tim:we will
She walked off and he shut the door
Tim:ok Emmy what do you want to do
Emmy:cookies
Tim:ok
He took her to the kitchen and grabbed the little cookies he kept there for her he sat there eating cookies with her
Emmy:tea party
Tim:you want a tea party
Emmy:mhm
Tim:well lets see what your mama left in this bag of yours
He opened the bag and saw a few dolls a bear and sure enough a tea set
Tim:we're in luck
He set it up for her and they sat there having their own little party for themselves for a couple hours
Until Angela came back
Ang:hey how was she
Tim:an angel as always
Ang:yeah cause you don't tell her no
Tim:hey not my kid
Ang:technically shes your god child
Tim:that's different that just means if something were to happen to you and Wesley im responsible for them
Ang:whatever hi my baby
Emmy:uncle Tim had a tea party with me
Ang:did he
Tim:we did it was nice actually
Ang:i hope she helped
Tim:so thats what this was
Ang:thought maybe you could use some Emmy time
Tim:thank you i needed that
The next day
Tim walked into work more cheerful than he has in months
Ang:whats with you
Tim:what
Ang:your smiling whistling laughing
Tim:i just feel happy today i think time with Emmy last night helped cheer me up a bit
Ang:im glad
O: hi dad
Tim:hey sweetie what are you doing here
O:mom let me come to work with her today
Tim: well good you could use a little break from school sometimes
O:im gonna go back to mom i just wanted to give you a hug
Tim:ok baby
She walked off
Ang:still feel happy
Tim:yeah she is happy im happy Lucy seems happy it works
Ang:well im glad it worked out
