Lilah couldn't help but feel like there was something between her and Fred. She knew that they had a connection. But she didn't know what it was.

She knew how she had known him pretty much her whole life. And they had grown up together. But Lilah had no idea what it even meant. She hadn't been able to concentrate on it much.

As well as noticing the connection with her and Fred, she had seen how her mum had been getting close to Snape. She knew they were friends. And while Lilah didn't mind her mum being friends with him, she didn't want her dad to get hurt.

Lilah was proud of how things had been with her mum and dad. How they had made it work. Despite Sirius being in Azkaban.

She wanted her family to stay united. And she felt as though she needed it given all that had happened. Harry's name coming out of the goblet of fire. And the incident at the World Cup.

All that Lilah knew was that things were changing. In more ways than one.

Morning came and Lilah walked into the common room. She saw Fred who smiled to her. "Morning," he said as he winked over at her.

"Morning. Are we the only ones awake?" Lilah asked as she sat down by the fire.

Fred nodded. "Yeah. Wanna go to breakfast? Can't be bothered waiting for my brother," he told her.

"Sure. Let's go."

The two of them left the common room and made their way over to the Great Hall. Fred turned to her. "What's going on with your mum and Snape?"

Lilah frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Well they spend a lot of time together. And well, Snape doesn't do friends," Fred said.

"They're just friends."

Lilah walked into her mum's classroom. Lia turned to her and smiled. "Oh morning beautiful girl. You okay?" She asked.

Lilah nodded. "Yeah. What's going on with you and Snape? Everyone is noticing things between you."

Lia rolled her eyes but smiled. "There's absolutely nothing going on with us darling. Your father came up last night. And we spent the night together. Severus Snape is a friend. Despite what people think. We are just friends," she told her daughter.

Lilah nodded and smiled. "Okay. Is dad still here? It would be nice to see him."

"He went to see Harry. Something about him needing someone there for him," Lia told her.

"Right. Of course. Harry," she mumbled. She knew all too well how her dad was always talking about Harry. And being here for Harry. She hated it so much.

Lilah walked along the corridor. She saw Snape who walked over to her. "Your last essay. It was the best in the class. Keep up the good work," he told her.

"Oh. Thank you sir. I just tried my hardest."

"It was excellent," Snape said to her as he walked off.

Lilah stood there and frowned. Having no idea what was even happening.

***
Lilah went back to the common room. Fred was there waiting for her. "Wanna go to Hogsmeade this weekend? It's the first one. Figured it would be fun," he said.

Lilah smiled and nodded. "Sure," she said as she walked off to the dorm. "This isn't a date though."

"Definitely not."

Not realising how close she and Fred Weasley were about to find themselves.
