Jasmine was awestruck as she stepped into the hall. The hall which was elegantly done mostly in woodwork was totally transformed. It was beautifully decorated with blue hydrangeas, lilacs and white lilies. Blue satin ribbons added to the decor.
'Oh! What am I doing? Don't be silly', consoled herself Jasmine. "You like it?" asked Vidya.
"Like it? Joking mom, I love it!" said Jasmine.
"So now get ready, guests..." and before Vidya could complete her sentence, Jasmine's mobile rang.
"Hello Sassy! Why you crying? Everything fine?" It was her best friend Suzan calling. "Now please stop crying and speak slowly for God's sake!" said Jasmine. After about a minute Jasmine spoke again, "Ok ok! Just coming!" and ended the call.
Vidya was looking questioningly at her daughter. "Mom it is an emergency! Sassy's father is having a severe stomach ache. You know he underwent harnea operation just last month. Aunt is out of town. Her brother in Delhi. She can't possibly take him alone to the hospital. I have to accompany her," said troubled Jasmine in one breath.
"Oh My God!! Dear I really hope he's fine! I know you'll have to go but please be early. How will I handle the guests alone? Your father's flight also got delayed. He was supposed to come by evening. His flight got delayed by few hours," said troubled Vidya.
'I hope he's on time,' muttered to herself Vidya.
