Akshu pov:

He waited for five minutes and looked at the clock; it showed 4 pm. College hours were over. "So, Ms. Akshaya," he began, trailing off as he adjusted his suit and looked at me with an expressionless face. "Come here," he said, pointing to the spot in front of his desk. I took slow steps towards him, still filled with fear and embarrassment, cursing myself for what felt like the hundredth time.

"So, Ms. Akshaya... or should I call you my girlfriend?" His words came out cold, making me freeze in fear.

"Sir, I... I..." I stammered, trailing off as he began to speak.

"Spill it out. What is this nonsense you and your friend have been spouting this morning?" harsha said, his voice laced with anger and coldness. This time, I felt a shiver run down my spine.

"Sir, actually... I wanted to tell the truth, but I hid it , instead," I said.
"Sir... actually... it was a misunderstanding,"
I added, my words sounding more like a question.

"Misunderstanding?" he asked, his voice focused and controlled.

"Y-es, it w-as a b-ig m-isunderstanding," I stuttered. He looked at me, suspicious.

"Don't stutter and tell the truth." He said, but with a colder tone and a somewhat higher pitch than usual.

"Actually, it was a big misunderstanding. I have a friend named Harsha, but for some reason, my friend mistakenly thought you were Harsha. Another friend had pranked her by telling her that you were my boyfriend. I was about to explain that you're someone else, and my other friends were just playing around with her. But then, unexpectedly, she saw you today and thought you were my boyfriend, which made her excited, and she greeted you. I ended up telling only part of the truth, feeling breathless and slightly worried about what you might think. I took a deep breath after my long  ass explanation."

I looked at the professor, and he looked back at me, still suspicious. It seemed like the prank had been played by a friend. He asked, still angry,
"Yes, yes, sir, I will clear the misunderstanding, sir, I promise," I said, feeling uneasy under his intense stare.
He replied coldly, "Let's say it was a misunderstanding, but I would appreciate it if you clear it. If this gets known to her or anyone else, you will be thrown out of this college."

"Yes, yes sir, sure," I said, giving him a nervous laugh. "So, can I leave now?" I asked, observing his reaction.

"No," he said.
"What? I mean... I mean, why, sir?" I asked, this time truly dumbfounded.
He looked at me with anger and said, "What makes you think I am a...?" He took a deep breath. "Am I G.A.Y?" he asked, his teeth clenched, his face covered in layers of cold and anger.

I gasped and froze in shock, after what felt like eternity
"Sir, sir, I... I... I..." I stuttered.
He cut me off, saying, "Don't even try to deny it." His tone left no room for argument.
I looked around nervously, avoiding his gaze, fidgeting with my fingers as I searched for the right words to say.

"Why are you spying on us? Don’t you know it’s wrong to listen to other people's conversations?" I said, trying to divert his attention, but it seemed like his brain was made of rock.
He simply replied, "Don’t try to avoid the topic. I didn’t spy on you. You’re loud enough to be heard even if I’m miles away."
He said, getting up.

Hehe"Sir, I wasn’t seriously saying that. I was just asking, and I didn’t mean it, "You’re a real man, and don’t worry. For sure, you’ll have good children and grandchildren!"
I immediately realized what I had said, clasped my mouth with my hands, and shook my head in nervousness, signaling a big "no."

He just raised an eyebrow in anger, clearly furious. He slowly walked toward me, his anger evident in every step.
"You don’t need to know about my children or grandchildren. Just stay away from me and stop gossiping about me or anyone else. And if I hear you gossip about me again, you’ll have to face the consequences. Do .you .Hear.Me?" he said, each word laced with anger.

I nodded at him, my hand still clasped to my mouth.
"Now, get out!" he spat, and I ran before he could say anything else.
"Wow! That was a close call. How does he manage to be so cold all the time? I'm starting to hate him. I have a feeling my semester is going to be tough."

I shut the door and went to my hostel, where I saw Bhanvi waiting for me.

Bhanvi:Hey Akshu, how did your meeting go with Professor Harsha? Or should I say your boyfriend harsha?" she asked teasingly.

Akshu;"Bhanvi, I need to tell you something. Harsha... Harsha, he's not my boyfriend," I said, finally admitting it.

Bhanvi:What? Don't joke around," she said.

Akshu:"Yes, he isn’t my boyfriend. Actually, we pranked you," I explained, telling her the whole story.

She looked at me in shock and anger. "So, so you lied to me?"

Akshu:"Bhanvi, I..." I started, moving toward her, but she stepped back.

Bhanvi:"You lied to me for  fucking one and a half years?" she said, her voice full of hurt.

Akshu:"I'm sorry, I shouldn’t have," I apologized.

She scoffed, pushing me away.
Bhanvi: "Don’t talk to me," she said, and walked off.

"Bhanvi, Bhanvi," I called out, but she kept walking.

I sat in my hostel room, feeling sad, when Cherry came to me. I explained the whole situation with Bhanvi.

"Don't worry, she'll come talk to you. You know she can't stay angry for more than a day," Cherry assured me.

I just nodded and went to freshen up.
