The rest of the night was pretty quiet. It was as if everyone was walking on eggshells around the exes, making sure nothing was brought up to trigger either of them to egg on another fight. Dinner was had, and everyone eventually retired to their respective beds. The night slowly turned into morning, and the silence of the house, slowly started to fill with chatter as everyone woke up and started to get ready for the day.
"Is Kylie making her famous waffles?!" Abigail asked as she walked into the kitchen, seeing Kylie mixing up batter and a waffle iron heating up.
"I wouldn't call them famous," Kylie said with a laugh. Kylie did make some pretty amazing waffles, but she didn't think they were amazing enough to be classified as "her famous waffles."
"You don't understand. It's like you put the perfect amount of honey and cinnamon in them. They are just," Abigail said, kissing her fingertips. "Chef's kiss." Abigail could rave about Kylie's waffles for days if she was allowed to.
"Well, thank you for liking them so much. I don't know if they are that great for all of the hype," Kylie said, pouring some of the batter into the waffle iron to get the first bath going.
"Morning, everybody," Taylor said, coming into the kitchen, raking her fingers through her curls. "Is Kylie making her famous waffles?" Taylor exclaimed, doing a little jump for joy as she asked her question.
"Okay, I need to try these waffles immediately," Ryan said. "If these two are saying they're so great, they have to be right. They don't like anything."
"I like stuff!" Taylor defended.
"You only eat chicken strips and corn on the cob. You can't tell me about good food!" Ryan told her.
"She eats steak," Jason chimed in from the kitchen island.
"She does not!" Ryan said. "I have made steak a million times and she will not touch it."
"She ate my steak, and she likes Trav's steak," Jason said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Please tell me that is on the menu for one of the days we're here." Taylor said
"I'm offended," Ryan said, putting a fake pout on his face,
"You either burn it, or it's still mooing. There is no in-between, and I don't like that," Taylor told him. She loved Ryan. She loved that he tried to cook her things that she might eat since she was a pickier eater, but she just hadn't found something that he made that she loved yet.
"Still mooing," Cara repeated, laughing. "I agree with you, Taylor. He does not make the best steaks. He needs to watch a few more YouTube videos."
"See! Someone agrees with me," Taylor replied, giving Cara a hi-five.
"Okay, don't gang up on me. I'll try to be better," Ryan laughed.
"Tay, do you know what would go great with Kylie's famous waffles? Your famous bacon!" Jason told her, rubbing his hands together. "Kylie tries, but no one can do it like you."
"Oh, shut up," Kylie said, removing a batch of waffles from the waffle iron, and pouring in another batch. "As much as I hate admitting it, Jason is right for one. So please, Tay?"
"Okay, I can do that." Taylor walked over to the fridge and looked through it until she found the packs of bacon meant for this morning's breakfast. "Where are the pots and pans?" she asked, not wanting to look through every cabinet and drawer in the kitchen.
"Cabinet to the left of the oven," Kylie replied quickly. Taylor responded with a slight nod and went to the cabinet she was directed to, getting out a skillet and moving over to the stove.
