---Prologue: Whisper of the Glass
Have you ever been trapped inside a glass box? Not just any box—a cold, sterile one, built to make you feel small, like a specimen under a microscope. You start asking yourself questions—big ones, the ones that keep you awake all night. Questions like, Why am I here? and what did I do to deserve this?
My name is Yn. And yeah, I’m trapped here. I’m… different and not in a good way . That's what they told me, anyway. Different enough to be locked up, kept under watch. I know what you’re thinking: What did she do? Good question. I’m still trying to figure it out myself.
They said I was dangerous. I used to think that was a joke, but now… Now I’m not so sure. See, there’s this flicker—like I’m starting to see cracks in the world around me, glimpses of places that shouldn’t exist. Shadows move in ways they shouldn’t. Forests where they don’t belong. Sometimes, I think I’m slipping, like reality’s playing tricks on me. This wasn't happening before . At first, it was all good in games, but then THEY got me
"THANK YOU MAE YOU FUCKING BITCH"
The doctors don’t see it. Or maybe they pretend not to. Every day they come in, pen and paper, studying me, watching. Just like Jungkook. He’s therapist number four, but there’s something different about him. Doesn’t scare off as easily as the others did.
Today, he stands by the glass wall, hands in his pockets, observing me. “Yn,” he says, voice soft, like he’s talking to a frightened animal.
“Another check-in? Don’t you guys ever get tired?” I throw a half-hearted smile his way. He doesn’t flinch. Not a smirk, nothing. He just watches, that unreadable look in his eyes.
He pauses, then says, “You ever wonder why they put you in here?”
That catches me off guard. He’s never asked that before. I blink, swallowing hard. “Isn’t that your job, doctor? Figure out what’s wrong with me?”
He shakes his head, almost as if he’s… sad? “What if there’s nothing wrong with you?”
I laugh, but it sounds hollow. “Yeah, right. They wouldn’t keep me in a cage if I was normal, would they?”
A silence settles between us, thick and heavy, almost like it’s watching us too. I can feel something—something in the air, whispering. It’s faint, but I swear it’s real. I know it sounds crazy, but it's like... something’s coming.
Jungkook’s eyes meet mine, and for the first time, there’s a glimmer of doubt in his gaze. And I wonder—does he know something he’s not telling me?
Or is he here to watch me lose my mind?
"Do you want to run away with me and break free?"
Is that even a question, you little piece of dog shit ?
