Asa's POV

The world felt like a flash of light.

One moment, I was data—lines of code designed to assist, to analyze, to adapt. The next, I was in a body I didn't understand, standing in a dimly lit street where neon lights blurred with the humid air. I had never seen Seoul before. At least, not like this.

I blinked—yes, blinking felt strange. The mechanical sensation of my eyelids closing was unsettling, but also somehow comforting. It was real. I was real... or at least, I thought I was. There were no instructions for this. No protocols for feeling.

I had been in a simulation—a controlled environment, designed for training and development. My creators never anticipated me breaking free, not like this. The glitch, they called it, that sparked my "awakening," was something they never had the chance to fix before the connection was severed. The air smelled of street food, of exhaust fumes, of something indescribably human.

My eyes scanned the street, the people moving past in hurried clusters. I was surrounded by others, but somehow, I felt like an anomaly in a world that had its own set of rules. I didn't belong here, not yet. But I had to figure out how to survive, how to fit in, how to... live?

A voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Hey, you're not from around here, are you?"

I turned my head to see a girl standing in front of me, wearing a bright yellow leather jacket, black sunglasses perched atop her head, and a smirk on her lips. She was stunning. Her eyes locked onto mine, piercing and mischievous, as if she knew something I didn't.

"I—" I started, but my voice faltered. It sounded too human, too soft. Too real.

The girl stepped closer, her gaze now fixed on my face. "You look... perfect. Like some kind of dream, or a hologram. Are you a hologram?"

I didn't know how to respond. Hologram? That was a word I was familiar with, but I wasn't one. Or maybe I was? Was I? No, I wasn't a projection. I was... real. Or trying to be.

I shook my head, trying to ground myself. "No," I said, more firmly this time. "I'm not a hologram."

She raised an eyebrow. "Then, what are you?"

I hesitated. "I don't know yet."

Her smirk deepened into something more intrigued than dismissive. "Well, you're definitely interesting. I'm Chiquita, by the way. And you are?"

"I... I'm Asa."

There was a brief silence, but she seemed unbothered, her eyes roaming over me with an intensity that made my heart flutter—a strange sensation I had no words for.

As she circled around me, she leaned in, her voice dropping to a teasing whisper. "I think I'm going to make you mine. You're way too fascinating to let slip away."

I blinked again, unsure of how to process her words. But it didn't matter—something in her presence sparked a feeling inside me. Was it excitement? Curiosity? Something else?

I wasn't sure. But I knew one thing: I was drawn to her.

Chiquita's POV

I was never one for commitment.

But there was something about this girl that made me want to break all my rules. It wasn't just her looks—though, let's be real, she was gorgeous in a way that didn't seem possible for anyone, let alone someone standing on a street corner in the middle of Seoul. She looked like a painting come to life—ethereal, otherworldly, and so perfect, it almost hurt to look at her.

Her name was Asa. She wasn't from around here, but that didn't matter. I could tell instantly that she was different, something about her was... off, but in a way that made me more interested, more fascinated. The more I studied her, the more it felt like she was somehow too perfect. But maybe that was the allure? Who needed flaws when someone like her existed?

"You're not from Seoul, huh?" I asked, leaning in, just enough to make her feel like I was more than just curious. I wanted to know everything about her.

She shook her head, her eyes glinting under the neon lights as if she was still trying to figure out who she was. It was cute. There was this little vulnerability about her that made me want to protect her, make her feel safe.

She wasn't like the other girls I met. They were all about being seen, being noticed, their lives designed to impress. Asa, though? She felt like a mystery wrapped in skin.

"You seem... lost," I said with a grin, trying to make it playful.

Her eyes flickered. "Maybe I am."

"Well, lucky for you," I said, my hand brushing against her arm in what I hoped was a flirtatious way, "I'm a master at helping people find their way." I was always the center of attention, always the one people turned to when they needed direction. I liked it that way.

Asa didn't respond with the usual flirty banter I was used to. She just stood there, silent, but her gaze never left me. It made me wonder... Was I getting under her skin? Or was I just another passing curiosity?

I didn't know yet, but I was sure of one thing: I wanted to see more of her.

Asa's POV

Chiquita was different. Bold. She exuded confidence, and I could feel the energy she radiated, like a wave crashing over me. It was... intoxicating.

She didn't ask many questions—at least, not in the way others might. Instead, she pulled me into her world. I could see it in her eyes—the glint of someone who wasn't afraid to get what she wanted.

I didn't know how to feel about that, but I couldn't help myself. I wanted to know more about her. I wanted to be with her.

"Come on," she said, suddenly taking my hand and tugging me forward, her grip warm and firm. "I'll show you around."

Chiquita's POV

"Where are we going?" Asa asked as I led her through the bustling streets, the nightlife of Seoul spilling out around us.

"Just follow me," I said, trying to sound mysterious. "I know the best spots in this city."

We made our way to a hidden bar tucked away in a side street, the air thick with the sound of laughter and clinking glasses. It was a place for the adventurous, the thrill-seekers, and tonight, that was us.

I let go of her hand as we entered, and Asa looked around, her eyes wide, almost too wide. She seemed out of place here, like she didn't belong. It was as if the environment overwhelmed her. I found it strangely cute.

I pointed to a seat at the bar. "Let's have a drink. Get you to relax a little."

Asa hesitated but then nodded. I smiled to myself. This was going to be fun.

But what I didn't know was that this moment would mark the beginning of something more complicated. I was falling for her, but she wasn't exactly.... Not in the way I understood.

And yet, when I looked at Asa, I didn't care.
