~T Minus 3(?) More Chapters!~

I know Angel and Husk are a bit in the dark with the entirety of what's going on, but I'm glad to see that they are here to back me up regardless. They just see that Lilith is a threat to my safety and are ready to make sure I stay standing. That's what I need right now.

I know I'm no match for Lilith in strength. She could probably squash me like a bug if she really wanted to. I can't win this with brute strength. I need to trust the plan Alastor and I devised. I have to use my cunningness and his manipulative behavior. If she sees through this, we're done for.

Lilith lifts her arm and opens her hand towards the three of us. This causes the ground underneath to start cracking and glowing with an ominous purple glow, quickly moving towards us. If we're not careful, we'll be swallowed and crushed.

Angel and I jump and run in separate directions while Husk flaps his wings to get in the air. All she did was lift her damn hand! I need her to make different moves. Convince her.

"You act like it's my fault that you failed to protect your own daughter!" I yell at her, causing her to look in my direction. Before I can say another word, Lilith raises her arm again. She's gearing up for another attack.

Angel uses his tommy gun to shoot towards Lilith. She stops her motion and looks over at Angel. Interesting, I know Angel is a good shot. I don't think he was actually aiming to hit her. Maybe just distract her. I won't waste this moment, Angel. Thank you.

"You are her mother!" I yell again, trying to get her attention. My tail and ears are a bit more fluffy than usual, the fur on edge from being irritated. At least, that's what I have to portray. "It is your responsibility! Stop taking your anger out on me!" I growl at her. I need to focus on defense, there's nothing I can do to her that would probably land.

"You have been nothing but a distraction to her protection!" Lilith argues back. I know what she's referring to, but she doesn't outright say it. I wonder if she doesn't want Husk and Angel to know? But that's just an assumption. She puts both hands out to her sides as they glow that eerie purple. Next thing I know there are multiple variants of snakes flying towards me. All different sizes and breeds. But they seem to have one goal, and that's to attack me.

They begin to explode one by one. It happens so fast I barely even realize that it's Husk's exploding dice. Every time one makes contact with one of the serpents they explode. Every single one is gone before they even get close to me. Thank you, Husk.

I think the two of them have caught on to the fact that I'm not even attacking her. They are on the defensive as well. There's a lull between the three of us and Lilith. No incoming attacks, but a tense feeling in the air.

"You made a bad deal." I state to her, still glaring at her. "You're asking a lot and offering so little in return." I don't know why I'm respecting her privacy of the deal. Maybe if I show this politeness things can end in my favor sooner. "Break the contract, and I'll ensure that Charlie is safe." I try to sound confident, but I'm worried she sees through it. Lilith just laughs at me.

"She's already been injured! It's too late for that, little one." Lilith laughs, shaking her head at me. "But you're right, I do have a bad deal, don't I?" Her tone of voice sounds mocking. I don't like where this is going. "He failed to keep his end of the bargain. I suppose he owes me then, yes?" She questions, holding her hand in front of her with her palm facing the ground. Her hand begins to glow that same purple, along with the ground in front of her. A purple chain flies up from the floor and into her hand, which she slowly pulls on to bring her victim up.

"No... Lilith don't!" I yell. I have a feeling I know what she's going to do. This will be difficult.

Lilith pulls Alastor from the ground with an uncomfortable yank, causing some pain to Alastor's neck. Once his feet are on the ground the floor materializes back to its original state. His painful smile evident to Husk, Angel, and myself.

"Lilith, you misunderstand." Angel starts. I know he wants to tell her that Charlie is fine and end this, but it's too early. I need her to see more of what Alastor and I have done.

I hold my hand towards Angel, trying to get him to stop. "Not yet." I say quietly. I know it's confusing, I just need him to trust me. Trust us.

"Misunderstand?" Lilith questions, another laugh. "My daughter was supposed to be protected! He was supposed to protect her!" She yells at us. I can hear the hurt behind her words. Underneath it all, she is a mother. Anger comes from fear. But I want her to never mess with me again. Never mess with him again. Never mess with us again.

"But he's been distracted for far too long it seems." She continues, putting one of her hands on Alastor's neck and moving up to his chin. I don't like watching this, and I can see that he hates her touch just as much.

Husk growls and throws a pair of playing cards at Lilith, hoping to get her to release him. She simply snaps her fingers, and the cards explode in small purple orbs, with no major impact.

"He failed at his job. He knows the consequences." Lilith looks directly at me. "He told you, didn't he?" She taunts.

I can't help the growl that comes from my throat. My hands clench from the tension. I can't take the bait. I need to wait. My words got her to bring Alastor to the forefront. Now we just need to rest to play into motion.

"I hope you enjoyed him while you could, little one." Lilith continues to taunt. Her hand moves to his forehead and begins to glow purple. Alastor lets out an audible and uncomfortable grunt. I can see from his body language that he's in pain. "His mind belongs to me, now." She laughs. "The first thing I'm going to have him do is kill you, (y/n)." She threatens. "I can't wait to see you be destroyed by your lover." She continues. She lets Alastor go and he stumbles for a little bit, holding his head like he's trying to get rid of a headache.

"Alastor?" I question, trying to look into his eyes.

Once I call his name, I see his glowing red eyes narrowed back at me. "(y/n)." His tone of voice sounds so violent. He doesn't move quickly; he walks towards me slowly. Like a predator eyeing its prey.

"That's right, Alastor. Kill her." Lilith laughs. I see his eyes flash from her command.

"Alastor..." I try again. Please remember. "Alastor... my love." Nothing. No response. He's getting close.

"...My perfection." Alastor, please.
