Sydney's morning was a disaster from the moment she opened her eyes.
She'd overslept, her alarm blaring an hour late, and everything went downhill from there. "Shit shit shit, I'm gonna be so late!" She whispered to herself. She threw on the first clothes she could grab, barely managed a swipe of mascara and shoved things haphazardly into her bag.

Rushing out of her apartment, she nearly stumbled down the stairs tripping over her own feet. When she finally burst onto the sidewalk, dodging through crowds of commuters, her foot caught a crack, sending her sprawling forward. She landed in her hands and knees, her bag flying open, scattering its contents across the pavement. Flushing with embarrassment, she quickly gathered her things ignoring a few curious looks from sniggering crowds.

Sydney arrived at the filming location bursting through the doors of the studio and as if she wasn't nervous before she was now, Her mother had always said "first impressions are everything". A tall guy with an intense look in his eyes spotted her and strode right over. She recognised him immediately from the photos. This had to be benson.

" hey I'm .." she began before she was abruptly interrupted "you're late" he said flatly, crossing his arms ms looking her over with obvious impatience. "I guess punctuality isn't your thing"
"Nice to meet you too" Sydney replied "and I'm guessing manners aren't exactly your thing" she snapped back with a fire burning within her.
"I had a rough morning but I'm here now, ok!"
Benson raised an eyebrow clearly unimpressed. "Look this shoot is on a tight schedule, so you'd better be ready. We don't have time for.. whatever kept you," he said before giving her a dismissive glance before turning away. "Asshole"

Sydney swallowed her irritation watching as he went to talk with a few crew members. She hadn't expected warm and friendly, but bensons rudeness stung more than she wanted to admit. Something felt weird about meeting him.

Just then, she heard a warm voice beside her. "Ignore him. That's just benson being ... well benson." She turned to see a guy with an easy smile and tousled blonde hair. "I'm Daniel by the way- one of benson's friends. I'm basically here to keep him from scaring everyone off."

Before Sydney could respond, a young woman with blonde hair joined them looping her arm through Daniel's. "I'm Madelyn, Daniel's girlfriend" she said smiling warmly at Sydney. "And I can confirm, bensons always a bit... intense, but he's not as bad as he seems. Give him time."

Sydney relaxed a bit, grateful for their kindness. "Thanks" she said with a small smile. "I was starting to wonder if I'd made a mistake, taking this gig." Daniel laughed "nah you're good. Benson's tough but he takes his work seriously. Just don't let him get to you. Don't worry I talk to him." Madelyn nodded. "Stuck with us. We've learned how to handle him, and I've got your back. Hey we're all going to a party tonight you should come it'll be fun" Sydney gave a discouraging look. "Hey don't worry Benson won't be there it'll just be me, you, Daniel and our friend who you haven't met yet."
"I'll think about it" Sydney responded hesitantly

Sydney smiled, feeling a new surge of determination. Benson might be difficult but she wasn't about to let him scare her off. With Daniel and Madelyn's reassurance, she felt ready to take on whatever came next.
