17 year old Jhene, runs away from her toxic home with her best friend Ayleks. Both try to figure out life on their own just by sleeping in a car and a 9-5 job. Jhene runs into famous XXXtentacion and immediately are attracted to each other.
"Come on Ayleks, we gotta go" I said as I swung my black jansport backpack over my shoulder. "Yeah I'm comin girl. Lemme just put this highlighter on" she said rolling her eyes. I swear this girl takes forever to get ready for the smallest things. Well maybe what we are doing right now isnt the smallest thing. But its not like we need to get all cute. ugh.
Ayleks has been my best friend since I was 13. We've known each other before that because of elementary school, but we didn't get close until 8th grade. We got close due to the commonality of our home situations. My dad disappeared from my life when I was 7 and started a family with a whole new woman. And my mom is drowning at the bottom of a bottle of alcohol. I can't stand living with her anymore.
Ayleks has a really abusive step dad who barely lets her leave the house and is always drunk like my mom. Her mom passed away when she was 10 from an overdose and she never met her dad because her mom got pregnant when she was 16, so he just dipped. Her step dad is so insecure so whenever she tries to leave the house he guilt trips her into staying and if she doesnt listen he beats the fuck out of her. Even though I am 17 and have one more year to put up with my moms bullshit, I no longer can stand it. On the other hand Ayleks is already 18 so she can technically move around anywhere its just she will get beat up and she doesnt have any money. So I've been working for the both of us since I was 15 so we can runaway together. But today is finally the day I have enough money for the both of us to runaway.
I put the rest of my stuff in her car as she took her sweet time. I swear her step dad got a split personality disorder or something. Because how does he give her a car but doesnt let her go anywhere??
Ayleks already had her bags packed in her car because she came to pick me up from her house. "CMON LETS GO BEFORE MY MOM GETS HOME" I yelled from the driveway in my apartment building. "Comingg" she said rushing down the stairs, locking my front door.
We hop in the car and drive straight out of Plantation, Florida. Ayleks didn't drive the two of us far, since it was late and we both were tired. We just drove to Parkland and found an empty parking so the two of us can sleep in the car.
TIME SKIP -- 8AM
I woke up to the sun hitting my face and Ayleks scrolling on her phone. "I got us Mcdonalds by the way, its in the back" Ayleks said casually. "Thanks girl" I said in a raspy voice, reaching to the back. "Yoo theres these upcoming artists I think, they've been doing shows around here. We should check it out" Ayleks said showing me a flyer of a guy with half black and half blonde dreads on her phone.
"Oh yeah I heard some of his stuff on soundcloud, shit fire we should check it out. Whens the next show?"
"Tonight in Miami. His friend kinda cute" Ayleks giggled zooming in on some lightskin guy with freckles. "Hes igh, X is cuter" I laughed taking a bite of my hashbrown.
TIME SKIP -- 6PM
I work at chickfila so Ayleks came by after my shift to pick me up. I got a discount from the food there so that was our dinner for the night. We ate in the car and got ready for the show. We had to move quick since it was lowkey a long drive to Miami with the traffic. After getting ready, I took a cute pic in the car and posted it to my instagram.
