Orion and Galaxy stare at each other for several minutes. Galaxy was nervous about what he will do, while Orion didn't understand how a sparkling got into the mines. Nor did he understand that there was a sparkling at all. Mostly due to the fact that it has been decreed that no new sparklings shall be conceived and birthed until energon can start flowing once again in Cybertron. So seeing a sparkling was a moment of disbelief for him, and Orion had to look away and look back just to even make sure that what he was seeing was real. And she was.
Orion could tell that the sparkling was not new born. She was quite a few cycles older than one considered to be a new born, but she was still too young to be considered a youngling. She still needed low-grade energon, which wasn't available anymore. Or at least, Orion did not think it was available. However, she seemed old enough to understand things and talk, but she definitely needed an adult transformer to still take care of her. And the mines was no place for a sparkling.
Orion intakes deeply and shifted to reach towards her, making her whimper and try to move back more. "It is okay, little one. I'm not going to hurt you." Galaxy whimpered as she sniffled a little while staring back at him. "You don't want to get yourself stuck in there. Come on, you have given everyone quite the...um...well you didn't scare everyone, but you brought a bit of trouble." Galaxy looked down a little while glancing at him. "Come on, it is not safe here for you. You need to go back to your parents." Galaxy tensed and whimpered as she already knew her parents were gone. The bond she had with them was already severed when she stepped out of the pod. And it hurt knowing they were gone. Orion seemed to realize that something was wrong and he softened his expression. "I am sorry if something has happened to you, but you need to come out of there. Come on, I will not hurt you."
Galaxy looked back at Orion's optics as she could see the kindness and concern. While she was afraid, Galaxy could sense he was good. She shifted as she thought about standing up and moving towards him before she heard another bot suddenly land by Pax, which startled her and Orion as he had not been paying attention to anything else but her.
"Did you find it, Pax?" Elita asked bluntly in an irritated way. "If you haven't, stop staring into that gap like an idiot and keep looking."
"Uuumm..." Orion turned his head to look back at Galaxy as she had tensed again. "Well...I have...only it isn't what I expected...or anyone else."
Elita let out a loud sigh. "Honestly, Pax, it shouldn't be that hard to get rid of a pest! But if you are too soft..." Galaxy whimpered as she saw Elita's shadow move closer and the femme paused. "Wait...why did that sound like..." Galaxy jumped as she saw Elita leaning behind Orion. The pink femme widened her blue optics in shock as she stared at Galaxy. "A...sparkling?"
Orion nodded as he looked at the sparkling with a kind expression. "I...I never would have guessed...especially since no one has had a sparkling for many cycles. This is not what I expected at all...and I am kind of impressed that she managed to evade us all."
Elita nodded a little in agreement. "Well...try and get her out without hurting her. We will need to tell Darkwing, since someone has clearly broken the rules." Elita walked away over to the railings to look at the other miners. "Alright, everyone. You all can calm down and get yourselves ready to work. Orion has located the problem and we will be dealing with it. Darkwing..." Elita looked at the large bot as he stomped over to the stairs. "Um, I think you may want to contact some superiors, since what Pax found isn't what we expected."
Darkwing huffed angrily with clenched hands. "And what makes you think that my superiors are even going to care what you found, Elita? If you can't destroy this vermin, I will do it for you..." He glanced up as D-16 landed behind Elita as he was curious to see what Orion had found. "D-16, did you not hear Elita? You are to get your aft over to the others and get yourself prepared for the day's work. At this rate, you won't even meet today's quota."
