5. 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢

𝐃𝐡𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐢

It's junmashtami today and I'm really excited cause we have competitions in our college. The dress code is traditional.

I wore my favorite anarkali dress which was in dark maroon shade with golden patterns on it. I paired it with simple golden jhumka, did not carry any necklace and wore juttis. Just did a natural makeup.

Coming out of my dressing room, i took my college bag and descending the stairs i saw my whole family on the dining table except my mom who was in the kitchen taking all the prepared food containers to the dining table.

I helped her to place the poha filled pot on the table and sat on my chair near purav bhai and nitin Bhai was in my right. Well we've been sitting like this since we were kids. On the head chair was dadu and left side was dadi, beside her was dad and beside him was mom, on right side was kaka and beside kaki was nitin Bhai and us.

"Baba, why are you dressed up today?" Uncle asked while serving himself tea.

(My family addresses me "baba" lovingly)

"Is there some event happening in your college?" Dad asked.

"Are you going on a date baba?" This time it was kaki.

And everyone's eyes shifted towards me with an lightning speed such that, I thought that my dear brother would break his neck.

"Khumnph.. khumnn nho!" The food went towards the air pine and not where it should go. I drank water which my mom passed to me.

"No, i mean we are celebrating Janmashtami in college." I replied while nitin Bhai was rubbing my back and purav bhai was asking if I was okay.

While my kaka (uncle) glared at kaki (aunty) while she just shrugged it off and said
"so you are all dolled up for an function!" She gave me an bored look.

I laughed a little and all resumed to having the breakfast and later Pavan Bhai asked me if I want a ride to my college but i denied.

I bid bye to my family and went towards gate and waited for shruti.
