Y/n's POV:
I don't know why but hearing Iris's name mad my skin crawl. It wasn't even her name, but the way he said it – as if it was a vulgar word. He didn't acknowledge me, his focus entirely on my phone. Todoroki looked unreadable.
"Just a classmate." I slowly state, watching his face for anything. Except he stayed catatonic. "Just?" he questioned; his tone shockingly incensed. Why did he seem so bothered?
I couldn't help but scoff, getting to my feet. His stance was pestiferous, yet the ambience in the room left me uneasy. Hell, I never liked when either Bakugo or Deku are in a bad mood, but Todoroki's mood sent chills down my spine.
"Look, it's my business so stay out of it."
The silence that followed was deafening, pooling over the room, and drowning out every little commotion that disturbs its dominion. Todoroki's gaze never left mine, its ability leaving a burning hole of ice through me; however, I didn't back down. "Why do you even care? None of the stuff I do shouldn't concern you, unless it directly involves you." Besides, the way he asked who Iris was had left me uneasy and – shockingly enough – I couldn't shake it off this time. I guess it's because I don't talk about my friends to them. Why would I when they're not my friends, nor would I even consider mentioning someone close to me to either of them.
Todoroki's eyes dimmed and eventually turning away – allowing the build up tension in my body to ease – until he stalked out of the room. The quietness that followed was less ominous, and yet I was left with a queasy feeling that I couldn't escape from.
Bakugo's POV:
Something wasn't right.
I've had this impression ever since arriving in this dump, that Y/n was leaving something out of his "trying and failing to get us home" plan. I found myself sitting on my mattress, muffling out the approaching steps coming downstairs. The end of the mattress sunk and I only felt more agitated by his presence.
"What do you want?" I bite, not bothering to acknowledge his presence. I was only met with dead air, which was further aggravating. Why be here if he wasn't going to speak? Yet I couldn't be bothered to yell – being too preoccupied with my thoughts.
"Do you know Iris?"
The abrupt question stunned me. Looking over, Icyhot stared remoteness at the floor. I always found it creepy, but now it makes him seem witless. Still, I was still processing his words. "Who?"
"A friend of Y/n's." he spoke, enduring his dunce-like persona. Regardless, his statement fostered an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Just the way he muttered the term "friend."
I roll my eyes, ignoring the sudden agitation I bear. "Do you think I give a shit?" Icyhot peered my way, examining my expression. "I wasn't asking." The bones in m knuckles crack the tighter I clenched them together. "Ok? Then why are you telling me? Do you care or something?"
"...No...but I feel like he's hiding something."
I froze, observing him with more interest. "You know...I was thinking the same."
