"Daadi, did you see my laptop?" Kiara poked her head in Daadi’s room.
Reyan’s head was in his grandmother's lap while the woman talked his ear off. Daadi lifted her gaze and shook her head.
“No? Where is my laptop?" Kiara groaned. Reyan peeked his eyes open and glanced at her.
“Check below the pillow” he instructed.
Kiara's eyes widened as she glared at her husband. " Did you keep it there?”
Reyan didn't answer, and Kiara got her answer.
"Give it a call. You will find it” Daadi adviced and the couple couldn't help but smile at her.
Ignoring her husband, Kiara went back to her room to find her laptop under the pillow. Mentally noting to give an earful to her husband about it, She sat down to complete her assignments which were due.
It was in the evening when Daadi and Mrs. Agnihotri were ready to go to a function. Kiara helped her grandmother with her Saree, pinning the pallu properly.
“You both should come too” Mrs. Agnihotri narrowed her eyes at Kiara and Reyan who looked away from her.
"I've got some papers to complete,” Reyan offered.
“I wouldn't want to miss the food but…” Kiara smiled sadly. "Assignments are due”
Both the elderly ladies looked at them hopelessly before rolling their eyes.
“Before marriage he had the same excuse and now his wife has excuses too!” Daadi scolded them, making Kiara chuckle. “If we don't go at people's functions, they won't come to our house function either"
"but Daadi, I'm already married” Reyan immediately countered.
"Chup kar!" Daadi glared at him.
Mrs. Agnihotri and Daadi got into the car, and drove off leaving the couple alone.
Kiara’s stomach rumbled as she stared at the door longingly. She really didn't want to miss the function.
“I wanna go too" She complained to her husband.
“Too late. Go and finish your work" Reyan answered without looking up from his papers.
“I'm hungry!" She cried out.
"eat”
She looked at him sadly before marching towards the kitchen to prepare something to eat.
“I'm making pulao, do you want something else?" She shouted from the kitchen.
"No,” Reyan answered back, his head buried between the papers.
Almost an hour later, the dinner was ready. Kiara was busy making the salad, when Reyan appeared in the kitchen.
"Smells good” He hummed, moving towards her.
"Thanks” She smiled, turning to grab some cucumber.
Reyan's eyes filled with warmth and affection seeing her cooking for them. It might be the first time he has seen her cook since he gets home late and missed the chance of seeing her cook in the afternoon.
A few strands of hair fell on her face from her bun, while sweat beads formed on her neck. Yet, in her green kurti, she looked breathtaking to her husband.
A sudden urge to hold her enveloped in him, too irresistible. His hand shot to hold her wrist making her freeze.
Kiara blinked her eyes up at him, confused. As soon as their eyes locked, her heart skipped a beat at the tender emotion he held.
