••★••The feeling of something crushed, as if her heart is teared off from her chest and put back in, dawned at her. The words rang in her ear and before she knew it her cheeks were wet. She was sobbing and her cries were louder than ever.
"H-how?" Suhana looked at her husband in desperation, her hand clutching the cushion, digging her nails into it. Shehreyar felt guilt rising up in him at her broken state. He didn't expect her to take the news so bad.
"Doctors said, it was a heartattack" the words doesn't seem real. Nothing seemed real.
Not a three months ago, she had lost her grandmother. Her dearest soul. The woman who loved her deeply. The only woman who was with her, who supported her, who held her when there was no one. When the world turned it's back on her, it was her grandmother who embraced her.
And now? Her dearest grandfather has left her alone too. Her dadajaan!
He was a man of very few words. His twisted judgement never sated the young girl and hence she always hide behind her grandmother to protect herself, not knowing the two were always there for her, together. Her grandparents were her pillars. And now having them gone, she felt empty.
Shehreyar wiped a tear from his eyes and mustered up the courage to reveal the next. "This happened three days ago"
Suhana nodded in haze, until something clicked. "T-three days? You were there the entire time? "
Her tone gave away her confusion, heart still scattered at the devastating news. Shehreyar didn't had the heart to tell the woman more. " Yes"
Her brows furrowed in confusion."he died three days ago and you're telling me now?" There was a raise in her voice. Agitation. She stared at him, finding answers and Shehreyar felt even more worse.
Nodding slowly, he looked down in his lap. "It was Dadajaan's wish." The whispered words echoed in the silence and her heart stopped for a moment. It sank. Deeper and deeper until the pain was unbearable.
"He didn't want you at his funeral"
Shehreyar tried to put it in the best way possible. He hated seeing the look on her face and knew she would be more hurt listening to this. But this has to be said. This was what her grandfather left for his beloved grand daughter. His last words. He didn't want her to see him for the last time.
Suhana went completely silent. His words echoing in her ears on a loop, tainting her mind and thoughts like a hurricane, that left everything in dust. She was lost. Utterly lost.
This was it.
Her ultimate defeat.
If her tears freaked him out, her sudden muteness scared him to death. Her pale cheeks and her hollow eyes suddenly twisted his heart. She was silent. Like a doll. Mind numbed and heart shattered.
She fought the world for the love of her love. Admist all this, she forgot the existence of other forms of love. Until she realised, everything already burnt to ashes.
So she surrendered.

Suhana's eyes were fixed on the ceiling. Her door unlocked. And her body lying in the bed, motionless.
Her mind was a dangerous place, she was scared of herself. The thoughts that came in her scared her. They were again compelling her to sin. A sin she has already tried doing once and it has wrecked her life. Now should she do that again?
