**Chapter 2**

I felt as though I had awakened in another person's body, as if I had been reborn into a reality that was wholly unfamiliar yet exhilarating. It was 5 a.m. when I opened my eyes, the soft light of dawn seeping through the curtains, casting a gentle glow in my small bedroom. As I made my way to the bathroom, the familiar routine grounded me: I carefully shaved my beard, the razor gliding smoothly over my skin, followed by a refreshing shower that enveloped me in warmth and tranquility. The minty freshness of toothpaste invigorated me as I brushed my teeth, and after a quick breakfast—a bowl of oatmeal drizzled with honey and a cup of strong coffee—I felt ready to face the day.

But before I could head off to work, there was something else that beckoned to me. The park nearby was calling my name, an undeniable urge pulling me towards it. It felt as if the vibrant blooms and heady fragrances of the flowers were pleading for my attention, promising the peace I had long yearned for. I stepped into the park, taking a deep breath as I soaked in the serene environment around me, the world waking up slowly like me.

As I strolled along the winding paths, I wasn't entirely sure what I was searching for—perhaps a moment of clarity or a glimpse of something extraordinary. My heart raced with each step, an adrenaline pulsing through me as if I was on the verge of discovery. Then, my eyes landed on her: a woman seated gracefully on a weathered bench under the lush canopy of trees. Her brown hair cascaded effortlessly over her shoulders, framing her face in the most enchanting way. When she smiled, it was as if the entire universe paused to admire her; no star could shine brighter than that radiant grin.

Her eyes, deep and brown, sparkled with a warmth that no diamond could ever hope to match, drawing me in from across the park. I could have stood there forever, enthralled by her beauty—so exquisite it seemed almost ethereal. She appeared to be lost in her own thoughts, watching the birds flit around, completely oblivious to the fact that they paled in comparison to her own splendor. I was mesmerized by her dreamy yet intelligent demeanor. It felt like my heart had melted, spilling into the earth beneath my feet.

How could a person be so perfect? It was as if she belonged to another realm, one far removed from the mundane reality I inhabited. Was this love at first sight? I couldn't say for certain, but one thing was crystal clear: I had to go to work. Reluctantly tearing my gaze from her, I made my way to the office, my mind still dancing with thoughts of the enchanting woman.

Upon arriving at my desk, I was surprised to find a single flower—a delicate white daisy—waiting for me. There was no note to accompany it, but it brightened my spirits nonetheless. With a newfound resolve, I approached my boss, eager to learn how I could advance in my career. My life had seemed static, a predictable routine, but I believed that taking steps to improve at work could pave the way for something greater.

Today, I opted not to visit my mother; I sensed it wouldn't change anything for me and, instead, I found myself preoccupied with thoughts of her. That one encounter replayed in my mind, her smile and those captivating eyes lingering in the back of my thoughts, refusing to fade. I desperately wanted to see her again, to experience that magnetic connection once more. Alone with my thoughts, my heart pounded fiercely in my chest, the mere idea of her causing my pulse to quicken.

Was this love I felt? I focused on calming myself, steering my attention back to work as I washed the laundry, prepped my lunch for the following day, and carefully selected my clothes. Everything needed to be perfect. As I went through the motions, there was an undeniable sense of happiness bubbling inside me, a joy that felt brighter than anything I had ever known before.
