"Boss, you called for me?" Pumasok si Draven sa office ng kanyang boss.

His boss is a seasoned officer, an older man with graying hair.

Prenta itong naka upo sa kanyang swivel chair sa tapat ng isang mesang puno ng mga papeles at mga dokumento.

Malamlam ang ilaw ng opisina at tahimik ang paligid nang magsalita ang boss.

"Draven, have a seat." His boss gestured to the chair across from him, watching as Draven settled in.

Draven raised an eyebrow, waiting for his boss to speak.

Matapos ang ilang segundo pang katahimikan, napasandal sa kinauupuan ang boss at napabuntong hininga. Kapansin-pansin rin sa ekspresyon ng matanda na tila hindi siya makapaniwala sa nagawa ng binatilyo.

"Are you actually out of your mind?" the boss said, voice low. "Do you have any idea what you're getting into?"

Ang kaninang pagtataka sa mukha ni Draven ay napalitan ng sumisilay na mapaglarong ngiti nang magkaideya siya sa nangyayari at kung bakit siya pinatawag. "I think I know exactly what I'm getting into, boss."

"Really, do you?" His boss's tone was flat. "You're not watching from a distance this time, Draven. The Mourtti family is different, this isn't like your other cases. These people are very dangerous, at sila ang responsable sa pag kitil ng buhay ng mga magulang mo. That kind of history doesn't just disappear. This job could mess with your head, yet you think you can keep it together?"

Draven shrugged, folding his arms. "That's exactly why I'm the right man for this. No one else would understand how I would die just to see that Family's downfall."

The boss studied Draven with a hardened gaze. "Listen. I know revenge is a powerful motivator to you, but don't let it blind you. Their guard is up, and Mourtti himself will be watching. Hindi basta-basta itong pinasok mo. Isang pagkakamali mo lang at panigurado akong babalatan ka nila ng buhay. This is not going to be easy Draven, I guarantee you that."

"If it were easy, you wouldn't have given it to me anyway." puno ng kumpyansa pang pagsasatinig ni Draven at napapatawa pa.

His boss didn't laugh nor say anything.

"Look boss, you don't need to worry about me. I've got my plans organized already for a long time. Nothing's going to slip, boss." dagdag pa ng binatilyo at komportableng naupo sa silya.

His boss raised an eyebrow. "What plan?"

A flicker of dark satisfaction crossed Draven's face. "Well, I'd like to start it by playing little games by sending a few... reminders. Death threats aimed at Mourtti's daughter. Make them think she's at serious risk, that she needs extra protection. Once they're panicked, they'll look for someone they trust to be close to her. And that's where I step in. They'll hire me as her bodyguard. Once I'm inside their core, I'll gather all the evidence we need. One step at a time, I'll dismantle Mourtti's empire from the inside slowly but surely."

The boss sat back, a mix of surprise and concern on his face. "You're willing to go that far?"

Naging seryoso naman ang timpla sa mukha ni Draven, nagpakawala na lamang siya ng malamig at mahinang tawa. "For what Mourtti did to my family, I'm willing to go as far as it takes. Kapag mas malapit ako sa kanila, mas mabilis ko silang mapapabagsak."
