Chapter 7

(A/N) holy shit guy I'm so sorry...it's been a fkn year! Honestly its been one of the craziest years bit that's no excuse for not updating. There's multiple reasons as to why I haven't but I won't waste your time. I'm sure you just want to read the chapter! So here it is (:

Chase and I bickered for the next two hours before I had enough of it and put my headphones in.

I was about 15 when that picture was taken, but why was Chase in Sydney? I knew why Lake was; he use to live down there too. We never actually spoke, but he knows my secret seeing as he went to my school. We both moved to Newcastle, and I think he kind of got that he couldn't tell anyone anything. He was a dick, but not that much of a dick. We'd probably only had about two actual conversations, never mentioning Sydney even if no one else was around.

I obviously fell asleep, because next thing I knew Chase was shaking me awake. "Maxi, we're here" he whispered. I just mumbled in response, not opening my eyes. I gasped when I felt two muscular arms lift me up and shivered when the cold air hit my skin. My eyes shot open and I glared at the boy carrying me.

"put me down" I growled, wriggling around.

"nah, I like this to much" Chase grinned. I gave up moving, but groaned when we entered the hotel room and everyone stared at us. Kade raised his eyebrow, and Carla grinned whereas Seth and Kalyn glared at Chase. Those boys were actually really protective. As soon as Chase noticed Seth's glare, he gulped and slowly put me down on my feet. I hit his shoulder and walked over to Carla.

"where am I sleeping?" I asked.

"you, Kade, Chase, Jasmine and Holly have the room next door and the rest of us are in here. Your bags are already in there" Carla explained, chucking me a set of keys.

I inwardly groaned and Seth cleared his throat. We all looked at him and he crossed his arms. "is it really a good idea to have Maxi in a room with two teenage boys? This one in particular?" he said disapprovingly, pointing to Chase. I nodded and stood next to Seth.

"I agree" I said, hoping to get away from Chase.

"she'll be fine, Seth! She's responsible, and they'll have Holly with them. Plus they wouldn't do anything with Jasmine around.." Carla trailed off. My eyes widened.

"woah! Really, Carla?! I wouldn't touch Chase if it was the last thing I did" I spat.

"what about Kade.." Holly said teasingly. I buried my face in my hands, covering my burning cheeks.

"oh my god" I mumbled.

"people, there are children in this room!" Kalyn yelled, covering Darcy's ears making us all laugh.

"alright you guys, go settle in and unpack" Seth said laughing. We all walked next door, and I unlocked it before running in and choosing a room.

"I shotty this one!" I yelled. Chase walked in and put his bag down, then walked over and sat on the bed that was against the wall seeing as I was on the window one. "um..what are you doing?" I questioned.

"getting comfy. That Kade guy chose a room and Jasmine wants to share with him, and Holly got the other room with the double bed. So we're stuck together" he smirked as I groaned. "great" I muttered, walking out and getting my bags.

As we were unpacking, neither of us were speaking so I decided to try make conversation. "so um..how's your sister?" I asked casually. Chase hesitated before clearing his throat. "better. She gets out of hospital in about month"

"and...how are you? You know, with your dad and all.." I trailed off.

Chase tensed. "fine. I'm fine" he said through gritted teeth. I dropped the subject and unpacked in silence. "so..why do you call your parents by their name's instead of mum and dad?" now it was my turn to tense up.
