When Things Come Back To Haunt You

Chapter 6

"wake up wake up wake up!!" I woke up to as Seth literally ran around the house screaming it.

Well, someone's excited. You think it'd be Kalyn, not his dad. "maybe there's only 1 adult in this house" I muttered to myself as I got out of bed.

"I completely agree" Kalyn said from my door, scaring the crap out of me.

"damn Kalyn! Stop sneaking up on me! And, you mean Carla when you say that right?" I asked him, cocking my eyebrow.

Kalyn looked at me confused. "what? No I meant you. Mum was singing and dancing round earlier as well, but she went next door to make sure they didn't need help with anything" Kalyn chuckled.

"oh, ok then.." I mumbled with a grin.

He went to leave but then I remembered something. "oh, wait, Kalyn! What was it you asked me yesterday? About that girl? Well, what's she like?" I asked quickly as he walked back into my bedroom, blushing like crazy.

"uh..well, she-she's really nice and pretty, um, she's really into music-"

"sing for her" I said simply, shrugging my shoulders.

"what?! I can't sing!" Kalyn protested. I laughed.

"come on, Kalyn. Everyone knows you have a great voice. Sing her a love song and you'll have her wrapped around your finger! Now out, I need to get dressed" I said, pushing Kalyn out of my room and shutting the door.

"thank you!"

I heard him call through the door as I grabbed a plain light blue tank top and short shorts out of my cupboard. I took off my PJ's and chucked them in my suitcase, slipping the shirt I got out over my head and sliding the shorts up my legs, wriggling around to get them on properly.

After I had done my hair, I went downstairs for breakfast, deciding on frootloops. Don't judge, they're amazing. After a few minutes, the front door opened and Carla, Terry, Brandy, Jasmine and Kade walked in to the kitchen.

"morning" they all said when they saw me.

"howdy peeps. How y'all doin?" I asked with an accent.

Don't ask me why. I don't even understand myself sometimes.

"great! And I can tell you are as well" Brandy said happily.

"yes, yes I am. I mean, we're going to Queensland so why wouldn't I be?" I grinned.

"touché" Kade muttered.

"well, Darcy has got dibs on coming with us so where's everyone else riding?" Brandy asked.

"well Kalyn, Kia and Bailey are going with Seth in his car, and Maxi's coming with me to get Holly and her nephew" Carla said.

"who's Holly?" I asked.

"a friend of mine from work" Carla replied.

"ahh right" I said in realization, taking then last mouthful of my cereal. An hour later and we were all packed into the cars, me and Carla in her car and everyone else in the other two.

"Holly's house is only about 5 minutes away, so we should only be about half an hour behind everyone else" Carla announced as we drove out of the driveway, waving goodbye to everyone as they headed in the other direction.

"ok, so I guess I'll be sitting in the back soon?" I asked. Not that I minded, seeing as it was a Colorado so I had enough room.

"yeah, I know it doesn't bother you" Carla smiled, turning the radio up. I grinned at her and we both started bursting out the lyrics.
