Natasha spent the next few days watching Bruce, Clint, Rocket and Scott put the time machine together.
Thor and Rhodey had come back to the compound with Rocket Nebula, so Natasha had someone besides Steve to talk to while the raccoon, Clint, Scott and Bruce were busy. Though she had to admit, it was hilarious watching Clint and Rocket interact.
Thor looked much better than last time. He seemed healthy, both physically and mentally.
"Natasha," Thor greeted.
"Hey, Thor. You doing good?"
"Yes. I have Banner to thank for that. If he hadn't come to help me out of my dark path, then I do not know where I'd be right now. He took every beer out of my hand, gave me a shoulder to lean on and helped remind me of who I am."
"I'm glad you're okay."
"Me too. So, when's the wedding?"
Natasha chuckled as she answered, "Soon."
"Can I be the flower boy?"
"Ummm, sure?"
"Yes! Barton, I shall be the flower boy at Banner and Romanoff's wedding!"
"Aw, come on," Clint whined. "What am I going to do?"
"Maid of honor?" Natasha teased.
"I'm not wearing a dress," Clint retorted. "I'd look great, but I'm not wearing one."
Bruce laughed loudly from his spot then joked, "Aw, no heels?"
"Hey, I look great in heels," Clint said proudly.
"Do I want to know how you know that," Steve asked with humor in his voice.
"Mission," Clint lied.
"Yeah, a mission Laura called, 'Who can run in heels faster?'" Natasha tattled. "Clint tripped bringing Hill down with him and Laura beat me by a hair. Fury won the betting pool."
Clint glared at her and the others were either laughing or trying not to laugh because they were eating.
The truth was, Natasha and Bruce hadn't been planning their wedding parties for the big ceremony. They both didn't know what was going to happen now.
The day they tested the time machine, Scott turned into a kid, an old man and a baby before going back to normal.
Bruce groaned and ran his hands into his hair, making it more of a mess. He started cursing in another language as he turned it off.
"Hey," Natasha said in a soft tone when she walked up to him. "At least we know it can work."
"Yeah, but I really thought I had it this time. I don't know what went wrong." Bruce looked over the machine then pulled something off as he made a disgusted face and yelled out, "Okay, who spilled soda and ice cream on this?"
Natasha turned her head to see Clint point to Rocket, who was pointing at Clint.
Bruce muttered, "This is why I don't allow food in the lab."
"You let me eat in there," Natasha said.
"You don't spill food, I know you respect my workspace, and I love you."
Before she could reply to that, Steve and Tony entered the building. Steve had his shield back, and Tony looked determined as he walked toward her and Bruce.
"Hey, Tony," Bruce said happily.
"Hey, bro," Tony said with a smile as he shook Bruce's hand, then turned his attention to Natasha. "Can we talk for a minute?"
