The night after the competition, the rink was empty, save for the lingering echoes of applause. Shoto was removing his skates, his mind still buzzing with the events of the day. He didn't expect Bakugo to show up, but when he did, it was with the same loud confidence as always.

"You know," Bakugo said, stepping up beside him, "I'm not exactly used to sharing the spotlight."

Shoto glanced up, his expression unreadable. "You did fine," he said, his voice even, but there was a warmth in it now. He had meant it.

Bakugo smirked, but there was something different about the way he looked at Shoto now. The fire in his eyes wasn't quite as harsh. "Yeah, well, maybe you're not such a pain in the ass after all."

Shoto didn't respond immediately, but something inside him softened. He stood, slipping on his jacket. "I guess we make a good team."

Bakugo's smirk widened. "Yeah, yeah. Don't get used to it."

But Shoto knew better now. Their rivalry wasn't over. It had just evolved—just like them.

And for once, Shoto wasn't sure whether to expect a firestorm or a blizzard from Bakugo next. Maybe it would be both.
