Chapter 9: Together, Forever?

Sonic's POV

Shadow was kissing.... (Y/N)? "I was RIGHT!!" I laughed and patted (Y/N) on the back. They stopped their kissing, and they turned around to look at me. "Faker.. you better run out of here. Now." Shadow hissed, threating me. I giggled and ran off to Rouge, who was also there.

"So... when's the marriage?" Me and Rouge laughed together, snickering. They just stood there in confusion, trying to process our spying, but they never knew. They were soo perfect together!!!

"Shadow, can you and your girlfriend/boyfriend get a room?" I snickered and ran off, giggling. And we ran off, trying not to get spotted. Shadow looked pissed off, but hey, it definitely made them flustered. It was funny to us!

Shadow's POV

I was about to crush Sonic into a wall. I was about to obliterate the whole- "Shadow, calm down. It's fine. It's not like we weren't, anyway." (Y/N) said, looking up at the sky, their pretty (e/c) eyes glowing likes the stars. "I know, but they pissed me off. How are you so calm all the time, (Y/N)?" I stroked their cheek with my hand, looking at their eyes.

They are so pretty... I don't know how I resisted them for so long. "I could be. But I choose not to. I shouldn't be mad for things that aren't my problem. Always look for the good in things. Shadow." They smiled at me, grinning. I should've assumed they were an optimist. I kissed them again softly on the lips before taking them back.

We were walking for some time, when they asked me, "Shadow.. do you.. ever have dreams?" They looked down at me, (Yes, they are taller than me, Sonic) and they stared at me in the eyes, like they were contemplating something. "Yeah." I nodded. 

"Well... I had this dream about you and me dating, and I was wondering-" I put my glove to their mouth again, keeping them quiet as always. "Aren't we already dating, (Y/N)?" We both blushed and looked away from each other for a second, then continued to walk together.

"Shadow... will we be together.. forever?" (Y/N) asked me. They stared at me dead in the eyes, tearing up. "Of course, (Y/N). I want to protect you.. with my life." We hugged for a second, not letting go. And we knew that we'd be together, forever.

A few years passed....

And they stayed together, getting married, and dating for the rest of their lives. They always stayed together, no matter the situation.
