The guard duty with Glenn was calm, then, Dale came into view, crossing the area below them. Remembering Andrea's words, Cass leaned forward and called out, waving to catch his attention.
"Dale! Andrea's looking for you!" She shouted.
Dale paused, glancing up at them with a faint smile before nodding. "Thanks, Cass."
"Any chance you've got an extra hat?" Glenn jumped into the conversation, gesturing to his head. Cass chuckled, recalling his cap still reeked of rotten egg.
"Nope." Dale replied, taking off his own hat and tossing it up to Glenn.
As Dale entered the RV, Andrea came storming out a few minutes later, her expression tight and eyes focused ahead. Cass and Glenn exchanged a glance, the tension between Dale and Andrea clearly unresolved.
"That's... not great." Glenn murmured, scratching the back of his neck.
"Yeah." Cass agreed quietly, watching Andrea disappear around the corner of the barn.
Not long after, Dale got out of the RV, this time telling Cass that Lori had been looking for her. When she finally found Lori, the woman was busy making Carl and Charlotte solve math problems.
Confused, Cass returned to the RV, only to find Glenn arriving at the same time, a jug of water in his hand.
"Dale sent you too?" She asked, arching a brow.
"Yeah." Glenn replied, equally puzzled. "Said he wanted water. What about you?"
Cass huffed, her confusion mirrored in Glenn's expression. "Told me Lori needed me. Guess not."
Both stood there for a moment, trying to piece together Dale's odd instructions. Eventually, they shrugged it off and climbed back onto the roof to resume their watch.
Cass spotted Shane cutting across the camp toward the RV, his stride brisk and his face set in that familiar scowl. She rolled her eyes, still seething over the man's earlier behavior.
"S'up," Glenn greeted casually, lifting a hand in acknowledgment.
Shane didn't bother responding, striding straight into the RV without so much as a glance their way.
Cass turned to Glenn, punching him lightly on the shoulder with a look that screamed, Really?
Glenn shrugged helplessly. "What was I supposed to do?"
Inside the RV, the sounds of drawers opening and items being shuffled reached their ears. Shane seemed to be tearing through the place.
"What the hell is he doing?" Cass muttered, craning her neck to peek toward the RV door.
Moments later, Shane emerged, his eyes scanning the camp before landing on them. "You see where he went?"
"Who?" Glenn asked, frowning.
"Don't even try to shit me, okay?" Shane snapped, his tone sharp and impatient.
Cass and Glenn looked at each other confused.
"What?" Glenn repeated, genuinely baffled.
"Dale, Glenn." Shane clarified, his frustration growing. "Did you see where Dale went?"
"Yeah," Glenn replied, his confusion evident. "He asked me to run and get him some water. Said he'd cover for me on watch." Glenn explained, when he saw that she was not going to give an opinion, he spoke for her. "And he told Cass that Lori was looking for her."
Shane's eyes narrowed, suspicion flashing across his face. "And he was gone when you guys got back, huh?"
"Yeah." Glenn nodded, glancing at Cass for confirmation, though she stayed silent, her arms crossed defensively. "You think he's okay?"
