Aurora was halfway through her latte when Finn slid into the seat across from her like he'd been invited.

"What are you doing?" she asked, narrowing her eyes.

"Drinking coffee. Isn't that what people do here?"

"Somewhere else," she said, glaring at him.

"Relax," Finn said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "I just wanted to say hi."

"Why?"

"Because you looked like you could use a friend."

Aurora opened her mouth to argue, but the words caught in her throat. She wasn't sure why, but something about Finn's easy smile made her feel less guarded.

"What's your deal, anyway?" she asked, crossing her arms.

Finn shrugged. "No deal. Just a guy who likes coffee and conversations with interesting people."

Aurora scoffed. "I'm not that interesting."

"Disagree," Finn said, leaning back. "You're a dancer, right?"

Her heart skipped. "How do you—"

"Your sneakers," he said, nodding toward her feet. "They're scuffed in all the right places. Plus, you carry yourself like someone who spends a lot of time in front of a mirror."

Aurora stared at him, unsure whether to be impressed or creeped out.

"I'm not stalking you, if that's what you're thinking," Finn added quickly. "Just observant."

Aurora finally smiled. "You're weird."

"Thanks," Finn said, grinning.
