A week later, Finn showed up at Blackbird Coffee with a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Let's go," he said, grabbing her hand.
"Go where?"
"You'll see."
Aurora hesitated but let him lead her outside. They walked through downtown, Finn weaving through side streets until they reached an old, abandoned building.
"Are you trying to get me arrested?" she asked as he climbed the fire escape.
"Trust me," he said, holding out his hand.
Against her better judgment, Aurora followed him to the roof. The view was breathtaking—skyscrapers lit up the horizon, and the stars seemed close enough to touch.
"Wow," she whispered.
"Told you," Finn said, sitting on the edge of the roof.
Aurora joined him, pulling her knees to her chest. For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, the city buzzing below.
"Do you ever feel like you're stuck?" she asked quietly.
"All the time," Finn said. "But moments like this? They remind me there's more out there."
He stood suddenly and held out his hand. "Dance with me."
"Here? Now?"
"Why not?"
Aurora laughed but took his hand. As they danced under the stars, she felt something she hadn't felt in years: freedom.
