"Annabeth, pack your things. We're leaving." Athena said hurriedly as she hung up the phone. Annabeth nodded, and then winced. Athena stroked her side.

"Come on baby, let's go get something for your side." she said, picking Annabeth up.

"Mom, I think I'll just stay here." Annabeth said, holding her side. Athena stopped and looked down at her. Did she really think that that was a good idea after just being shot with an arrow because of that same thing?

"Annabeth baby, look what they did to your side. Do you really think that it's a good idea to leave you alone again?" Annabeth shook her head, and Athena continued walking down the stairs of the mansion.

As they entered the beginning of the Medical Wing, the door to the laundry room was wide open. May never left it open. Which only meant one thing. That's where she was murdered. Or, even worse, it meant that he was still there.

"Annabeth, stay right here." Athena said, her eyes fixated on the open door.

"But mama, you just said–"

"Stay here."

Athena grabbed a needle off the medical table, just in case. She walked cautiously into the room. She held back her tears, as she saw May sitting down in her chair, the laundry basket at her feet. Her eyes were blank and empty, and her middle was bloody. Athena walked over to her, and started to examine the wound. If she had been there during the murder, she might have known how to treat her, but, evidently, it was too late for that.

Without a word, Athena left the room, and tried to find something for Annabeth. One of the maids scurried into the room, her face full of fear. Immediately, Annabeth ran over to her crying, and the maid, who Athena believed was Mia, patted her head in sorrow.

"Is it true?" She asked quietly over Annabeth's head. "Is May really...you know...?" Mia asked. Athena nodded. Mia sank down to her knees, and sobbed. Athena watched as Mia and Annabeth continued to clutch each other, both full of fear, sorrow, grief and regret. Athena felt it best to leave them be, and find something to ease and heal Annabeth.

"Oh my gods, Annabeth." Mia suddenly exclaimed. "Don't tell me...they didn't get to you as well, did they?"

"They did. I'm trying to find something for it, but I'm nothing like May. I only really know of knowledge of the brain, and wisdom. I'm not really sure what to do about her wound though..." Athena muttered shamefully. Mia gave a watery chuckle, and walked over to help her.

After an exhausting time full of crying, kicking, screaming, and slight cursing, Annabeth was as healed as she could possibly be.

"Just make sure you aren't over-exerting yourself. You don't want to accidentally tear some more of your skin off, do you?" Mia told her, and Annabeth giggled.

"No."

"Good."

"Now, we have to pack. I suggest you leave as well, Mia. You aren't safe either." Athena added, gesturing to May's dead form in the laundry room. Mia swallowed and nodded.

"Yes. Let's all start in Annabeth's room. I fear that she has the most to lose." Athena said, getting up. Annabeth sighed, and got up as well. Mia nodded again.

Once they reached Annabeth's room, Athena, and Annabeth packed everything they needed (and wanted in Annabeth's case), while Mia swept up the broken glass. Annabeth refused to leave her stuffed dog, Buford, and put up quite a bit of a fight when Athena told her that they already packed too much, and would be very suspicious if they were leaving their house with all their belongings.

"You're only supposed to pack a backpack so he doesn't think we're leaving." Athena explained impatiently. Annabeth shook her head.

"If we can't bring Buford, then we can't go." she said stubbornly, folding her arms. Athena sighed, and snatched the stuffed dog out of Annabeth's hands. She placed Buford into her backpack, which was now starting to over fill. And this was only Annabeth's stuff.

They had a looooong way to go.
