Leo rested silently upon Jason's chest, snooring ever so quietly. Jason had assumed Leo was ok, and had dozen off after a while of listening to Leo's breathing. Oh, how wrong Jason was.
----- Leo's Nightmare -----
Leo was 8 years old again, in the workshop, the same workshop his mom died. Esperanza Valdez, his innocent, sweet mother, who raised him and showered him with undeserved attention. (This is Leo's pov kinda?)
He sat, surrounded by small candles whilst holding a blowtorch. Nothing bad would happen, right? After it's not like it's connected or anything. What could possibly go wrong. Of course this was all what 8 year old Leo was thinking, now though, Leo knew so much better. Even though this isn't really what happened on that dreadful day, Leo couldn't help but cry remembering how young and simple minded he was, how naive he was. 8 year old Leo placed the blowtorch back down on the work table, now imagining the fire dancing in his hand. He imagined the fire flowing around his fingers, almost gliding. Leo turned around to look back over at the blowtorch, but instead of the blowtorch, he saw a candle. A dim, small, candle, glowing oh so kindly. Leo loved just how kind the candle seemed to be, only wanting to be wrapped in a warm embrace. Oh, how he would regret his wish. Once his simple wish was completed, all the candle fires around him got brighter, bigger, hotter. They started to spiral, moving to the center of the room, coming closer to Leo. They got closer, and closer, and closer, closing in around him, similar to an embrace. They fire created a column around him yet not burning him. It all was absurd, he tried to call out to his mother, wanting only her embrace. He started to get a sensory overload, the fire not leaving any burn marks, but feeling hot and tingly. It scared him so much, so much.
Tears rolled down his cheeks, the tears also feeling as if they were burning him.
It all hurt, he wanted it to stop.
He simply wanted it to stop.
His head was pounding.
His mind screamed in pain.
stop
Stop
STOP
STOP
JUST STOP
His mind screamed over, and over agian.
He saw his mother, burst into the room, just as he feel down onto his knees.
But the fire ran to her and swallowed her whole.
Esperanza, his mother, his beautiful, kind mother.
It all hurt, all of it.
He just wanted the nightmare to end.
That's all he wanted, for it to stop.
But he heard his Tia's voice
You always want more, you little brat, just take what you have and be grateful already! You can't have everything you want! I want this I want that, it doesn't matter. You have what you need, so be grateful! Want to know what I want, I want my sister back, I want you to never have been born. If you never existed my sister would still be here!
Stop wanting more Leo.
Stop wanting more Leo.
Stop wanting more Leo!
Stop wanting more Leo!
STOP WANTING MORE LEO!
STOP WANTING MORE LEO!
STOP WANTING MORE LEO!
STOP WANTING MORE LEO!
STOP
WANTING
MORE
LEO!
STOP
WANTING
MORE
LEO!
He repeated this over, and over, and over again, hating himself for wanting more. He sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.
Each tear burning.
Each tear hurting
Each tear leaving a trail of fire
Each tear leaving a scar
Each tear for each one of his mistakes
1 tear
2 tear
3 tear
4 tear
5 tear
6 tear
7 tear
8 tear
9 tear
10 tear
And on those tears went, till his eyes were dry, not a single tear remaining. There weren't enough tears for all his mistakes, all his steps out of line.----- End of Nightmare -----
