Bradley fidgeted with his hands, swirling his thumbs around in nervous circles. The office was quiet except for the tapping of keyboards, mice, and scratching of pens on paper. But in Bradley's mind, it was anything but silent. He was too invested in his own mind. The voice of his father echoed over and over in his head: "'You're a failure, Bradley. A total waste of space.'" He felt a large pit form in his stomach. It felt like he could throw up any second.

The door to the principal's office opened, revealing Mr. Uppercrust and the principal. "Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Mr. Princeton. It won't happen again," Mr. Uppercrust said to the principal, then turning his attention to Bradley. "Come, it is time to go," he said in an expressionless tone.

Bradley trailed behind his father, leaving the college property. He hid his face from other students with his hands as they passed by. Their chauffeur opened the car door for them and tipped his hat to them. Bradley sat down closest to the window and far away from his father. He looked out the window longingly, wishing to be anywhere but there. The car ride was silent other than the sound of the car motor being heard as they drove home.

Once pulled into the driveway, Mr. Uppercrust finally spoke again "Thomas, give us a moment alone. We will be in, go ahead," he said as the chauffeur left them alone.
Bradley felt panicked watching the chauffeur remove himself from the car and head inside "Father, why are we st—" Bradley was cut off by a hard cold back hand to his face "Boy, you are in a heap of trouble. Do you realize you put our family name in jeopardy?! You embarrassed the Uppercrusts. Even worse you lost to some poor lowlifes! You did wrong Bradley, you did wrong!" He said. Tears formed in Bradley's eyes as the taste of blood started to fill his mouth from the blow "Father, I know, please forgive me. I never meant to embarrass you." He pleaded, while covering his face from any more possible attacks. 'Please mom, hear me and save me,' Bradley thought. Mr. Uppercrust reached over and opened Bradley's car door side and pushed him out. Bradley, being distracted from covering his face, fell out hitting the ground hard. "Go to your room now, Bradley. I don't want to see your face. You're no son of mine!"

Bradley picked himself up quickly. He was now covered in dirt from the driveway. He ran into the house to his room not wanting to be seen getting emotional.
