A K I R A
A gentle but biting breeze wove through my air, its thin, frigid fingers teasing my hair and brushing against my skin. I shivered slightly, yet I couldn't tear my gaze away from the mesmerizing scene before me.
The cottage we were heading to was right in front of me, and the canopy of trees and the scattered sunrays made the summer afternoon quite warm and beautiful. I looked back at the kids who stood with me and smiled at the same view. We would finally have a place to stay.
"We'll have food right?" One of the girls questioned. "She said they will give food." The other replied while I kept caressing the cat that sat on my lap with my tiny fingers moving into her little furs.
"Where did you come from?" The eldest girl of us questioned. I turned my gaze to her and she was looking at me. Perhaps because I hadn't spoken a word since I boarded the bus.
"Orphanage." I voiced with my baby voice as she gave me a smile. "You're pretty." She said, making a smile out of my lips. "You too.."
By the time we reached the Manor, it was past evening. The darkness and quietness of the surrounding held so much fear and dreadful screams yet, we all kids were hopefully waiting for our turn.
"Next." The woman sitting on the chair, over the hall called. The girl standing in front of me Moved and now I was standing at the first in the queue. Next my turn.
"Oh poor girl. You're skinny. Give her some food and new clothes before the men arrive." She announced.
"Next."
I walked into the hall, her eyes roaming around me. "Come here." Giving me a smile she called.
"What's your name?" She asked. Her voice held suspicion and doubt..
"Akira." I said.
"Full name."
"Akira Suryawanshi."
She paused.
Won't she give me food?
"Take her for the daily auction."
