Y/N's P.O.V

—The day of the ceremony—

Cait offered me an invitation to the VIP section of the ceremony but I refused. I never really got the whole deal with VIP sections anyway. I can see just fine from where I'm standing. -"Hey. You owe me a new jacket." Vi bumped my shoulder. -"Only if you let me pick it." I gave her a smile but she didn't return it. -"Something wrong?" I laid my hand on her shoulder. -"Caitlyn asked me to join the Enforcers." She said plainly. -"Jeez, that's a big responcibility." I replied. -"A big bullshit is what it is. I'm not gonna do it. You might've liked your life up here but I don't." She said determined. -"I don't know. With everything going on we might consider it." I told her. -"We?" She raised her eyebrow. -"Yes, we. As if I'd let you run off with a badge on your own." I shot her another smile and this time she gave me one back. -"Yeah, that would be stupid of you."

The big part of the ceremony were just speeches upon speeches but I guess that's what people need now. My heart sank lower and lower everytime I heard Cassandra's name. She was always kind to me. Never punishing me or scolding me for sneaking through her daughter's window. I bet me and Cait kept her up many nights but she never complained. And I couldn't do anything to save her.... I promise I won't let Zaun torture us anymore. I promise I'm gonna-. -"Hey, do you think I'd look hot in a uniform though?" Vi asked me jokingly. Bringing me out of my thoughts. -"Heh, you'd look hot in everything." I chuckled. -"That's a lie but a sweet one." She replied with a slight chuckle too. -"Although—" I wanted to add something but an Enforcer caught my attention. -"What?" Vi asked confused and followed my gaze. I've seen a lot up here but never an Enforcer with a visible tattoo... He dissapeared in the VIP section. -"We gotta get in there!" Vi said and I just nodded in agreement.

We both jumped over the railing and tried to follow him but the Enforcers guarding the entrance stopped us. Fuck now I'm really reggreting not taking the invitation. -"Wait! Let us through please!" I pleaded with the guards but they didn't budge. -"We're trying to help, you-" Vi was cut short when the same Enforcer hit Mel and another woman attacked Jayce in the crowd. The fake Enforcer then fired a flare and panic began. -"You aren't safe up here, toppers!" He yelled towards the screaming, running crowd.

It wasn't long until I saw Shimmer goons burst through the skylight. -"Shit! We gotta get these people to safety, now!" I yelled a command to Vi but she was already doing so. My eyes landed on a big Shimmer ogre tearing through the crowd. -"Oh, what the fuck?!" I decided to leave that one for later and ran into the crowd. Looking for anyone that might need me help.

And it wasn't long until I saw an Enforcer who was trying to get to her gun and a Shimmer goon catching up on her. I didn't think. The smoke was so thick I could barely see them but that was exactly what I needed. My glove folded and my arm heated up, a warmth I missed almost too much. Running in front of the goon I slammed my fist into the ground. That created dust so thick I couldn't see more than a few feet ahead. Perfect for me. He stumbled and fell backwards where someone else shoved him back towards me. With one exploding punch of my fist I destroyed his glass helmet. Then before he could react I slammed my fist into his chest, the heat of my arm burning through his armor and into his shimmer filled body. I tightened my grip and ripped out his heart. Before he fell to the ground he managed to swing his arm one more time and I was sent flying into the nearest wall.

My glove reactivated again and I just laid there trying to not think about how much my back hurt. Not long and I could see the siluette of a girl approaching me. -"Woah...How did you do that?" She extended her hand for me to take. I looked at the ashes in my hand and let them be taken by the wind. -"I have very good matches." I said when I took her hand. -"Matches? There's no way." She said when she helped me up. -"Better believe it officer. Gonna be easier if you do." I dusted myself off and looked around. -"Junior officer Maddie." She smiled. -"Pleasure."

Suddenly I heard another scream. In it's direction I saw a goon running after someone else in the corner. The shots were precisely aimed at it's head. Caitlyn! I didn't think. I left the other Enforcers fend for themselves and sprinted towards her. Before I could get a single punch at that asshole Vi dropped in and tore a ventil out of his armor. It dropped dead. -"Can't let you have all the glory, Match." She joked when she saw me next to her. We both helped Cait up on her feet. -"We have to help the others!" She grabbed her gun. -"Let's go!"

(The rest of the fight was the same as in the series. I honestly see no point in typing it out sorry xd)

—After the fight—

Me and Vi went to see Cait. -"You're lucky you have two muscle mommies to protect you." I tried to joke but the only person to at least chuckle was Vi. -"A memorial...What kind of animals!" She said angrily. -"They wanted the spectacle..." Vi replied. -"My guess is that they're trying to scare you. But by the look on your face they just pissed you off." I added. Finally Cait at least looked at me. -"I could never hide anything from you....I have to end this." She said. -"And you think an invasion is the answer?" Vi replied. -"What invasion? You wanna invade Zaun?" I asked confused. -"It's the only way." Cait said. -"The only way to get yourself killed more like! You need to find another way." I told her. -"I don't know how, okay!" She yelled out. Even I don't remember the last time I heard her so angry...desperate.

-"She dies and leaves this giant hole and I'm just suppose to fill it! Like she was never there to begin with." Me and Vi looked at each other because we both knew the pain she's going through. One more than the other... -"Hey." I sat down next to her and put my arm around her. She slightly pulled it closer and relaxed in it's warmth. -"The whole gets smaller, but you never fill it." Vi told her. -"And you're not suppose to. You just need to guide everyone around it and not fall in in the process. In time you'll learn how to walk around the edge and you'll see, it's much easier if you don't look down." She took a moment to consider what we said.

-"I was wrong to spring the badge on you. But every way I slice it. If I go after your sister alone, one of us comes back in a box. It's all coming apart." Her voice broke at the last part. -"No, it isn't." Vi replied. -"We won't let it." I added. -"Now, do you wanna know my uniform size?" I smiled at her.

—Few days later—

It was a long and quiet ride down in the elevator. The only comfort was Vi's hand squeezing my own. I only met the other Enforcers briefly. Maddie, she had a pistol and a granade launcher on her. I remember saving her at the ceremony. She's nice, sometimes too cheerful for my taste but otherwise okay. Next is Loris who has a powerful riot shield and I'm pretty sure he can use it well. He's kind and wise, reminds me of Ian and Vander in it's own way. And lastly Steb, I crossed paths with him before. He's a beast with batons. I've never seen anyone control a crowd better than him. He's quiet but very caring.-"Enforcer blue looks goon on you." I smirked. -"Ha. You really can't lie, you know that? You get too nervous. I always catch your bluff." She smiled back. -"Maybe the lie isn't the thing that's making me nervous." I said and gently kissed her shoulder. As that's about the only thing I could reach. I saw her cheeks turn red but it quickly dissapeared when the elevator doors openned. -"Here goes nothing." She said and we all followed Cait into the room.

-"This is a private meeting! Who let you in here?" Councilor Salo said as soon as he saw us. -"I am a decorated officer, leader of house Kiramman. Address me with respect, or keep your mouth shut." Cait told him off. Way to go girl. -"I will lead a strike team into Zaun with three objectives. Locate Jinx, dismatle Shimmer, and neutralize any agents still loyal to Silco." She told everyone her plan. -"What makes you think you'll fare better than our forces today?" Salo asked, not buying a word she's saying. -"We have a few surprises of our own." She replied and that's when all of us stood beside her.

Everyone except me had a hextech powered weapon. I told Jayce I didn't need one and to my surprise he didn't ask many questions. -"And we have a guide. General Ian Hawthorn's niece. The last known user of a specialized melee Enforcers tactics. General Y/N Hawthorn." She called my name and I looked down at Salo proudly. He recognized Ian's last name. He was just unaware that I took it as my own. Cait also gave me his rank. General Y/N Hawthorn, or as many people know me as....Match.
