"Gina, table 5 needs attention" Lynn yelled at her co-worker who visibly frowned.

"I'm done with my shift, hasn't Rachel turned up yet?"

The response sounded a bit rude and Gina winced at that. She didn't mean for it to sound that way, but she was tired and cranky. She had been standing for hours and honestly just wanted to go home and rest.

But as luck would have it, Rachel, her best friend had not turned up for her shift yet. Not that it was surprising, the girl was probably nursing a nasty hangover and probably tryna get rid of whatever poor sod she had dragged home last night.

With a huge sigh, and seeing the pleading eyes Lynn gave her when she responded, Gina reached for her apron and was about to fasten it, when Rachel barged in through the back doors, an apologetic smile on her face directed towards her best friend.

"You're late, again" Lynn deadpanned crossing her hands in front of her chest.

"And you're not my boss. Mind your business"

Lynn simply scowled at the blonde girl and walked off.

The response was actually not as harsh as Gina was expecting from Rachel. Lynn should count herself lucky. Gina knew there was bad blood between the two but she never got to understand why. And to be honest she did not want to. Rachel could be very catty and mean, and Gina wanted none of that energy around her. So she avoided Rachel's bitchy side as much as she could.

"Hey babes. Sorry I'm late. Killer hangover" she mused while quickly getting into her work gear.

"Why am I not surprised. And what was the name of the guy you took home last night?"

Regina asked but she knew the answer already.

"I don't know babes. I never ask. Now run along, you look exhausted."

Rachel gave her friend chaste kiss on the cheek before heading to her workstation.
Gina shook her head with a small smile and grabbed her jacket, preparing herself for the 15 minute walk home.

But as soon as she stepped out of the small restaurant she worked, she felt a presence behind her, one that made the hairs on her neck stand.

Afraid of the horrors she'd see if she looked back, Gina pushed her cold hands into the warm pockets of her jacket and began walking. 15 minutes seemed like something she could do, and she was sure she could outrun the person behind her if the need arose.

As she continued walking, the feeling of someone behind her grew stronger and stronger, and yet she did not hear any footsteps behind her. She finally decided to feed her curiosity and turn around, but she was stunned to find there was no one there. And yet, even when she could clearly see that there was nobody, she still felt  a presence around her, and it suffocated her.

She turned and continued her journey, willing her heart to be calm, and yet it had suddenly begun beating excessively. She was terrified. And she had no idea why.

There was clearly nobody following her, and yet, she felt someone's or something's presence all around her, and it was a cold unfriendly presence.

Suddenly, a person appeared in front of her, yelling and screaming whilst pointing something at her.
It was a boy, looked to be around 16, and he was clearly speaking to her, threateningly. And yet Regina could not understand a word he was saying. It was a like she was in a daze, confused and completely lost in whatever had gripped her. She knew she was in danger, but for the life of her she did not understand where the danger was and where it was coming from.

And before her mind could process things any further, a loud bang went off, which was followed by a searing pain that jolted her brains back to life.

She clutched her abdomen where the pain was coming from, and felt the wetness that pooled on her hands. She collapsed to the ground and reality struck.

She had been shot!

She heard a voice in the distance yelling her name, but the pain was excruciating and with every drop of blood that left her body, she felt her life slipping away. She vaguely felt somethimg being pressed onto her wound, and the faint sound of sirens.
And just before she gave into the darkness, she felt that presence again, heavier than before, and felt it consume her.

Gina regained her consiousness for a bit and felt she was being moved by something. Her vision was blurry and her mind foggy. She could hear panicked voices yelling, and the bright lights above her made it that much harder to focus.

"It's okay Gina, you're gonna be fine okay."

She knew that voice. It was familiar, but she still couldn't place whose voice it was.

And just as she was wheeled into a cold room, she felt that presence again. And as the doctors began to move around her, she didn't just feel it she saw it. Him to be specific.

Clad is a black coat, hands in his pockets, watching her. And she watched him too, wondering who this mysterious man was, and why his presence felt so cold; deadly.

"Who are you" Regina whispered.

She was weak, and was about to pass out, but she faintly registered the look of shock on the man's face just before she passed out.

"I saved a girl today" Orcus spoke his voice laced with venom.

Even he could not believe he was uttering such blasphemy.

His words were met with silence, and as he turned towards his seemingly too stunned to speak brother, Orcus prepared himself to give the final blow. He knew his brother would lecture him, so why not give him all the details and receive all the lecturing at once.

"And she could see me. She saw me and spoke to me, brother. A human girl"

Liel's silence lengthened as his brothers words sunk. He could not believe what he was hearing. It was not possible and Orcus has had to be joking.

"We have a problem" Orcus spoke up once more, his voice and posture laced with determination and this time around, he received a grunt like sound from his brother.

"She has to die" Liel finally spoke up, and for some reason, Orcus felt a pang of protectiveness wash over him. He oddly felt like saving her again.

But nevertheless, he agreed with his brother.

She HAD to die.
