Chapter 4 - Forgiveness Pass

   Imagine having a family that is so rigid that you only have a chance to do something wrong. If you do it twice, you'll have to spend weeks with pigs, choosing between eating nothing or their food...

Day 3

   I just sacrificed myself for Alicia and Leonard. I hope they are doing well, just like they did before I came to this place. The farm is actually worse than I thought. The pigs' smell is terrible, maybe because it is covered in mud. It was a lonely day, but I didn't see it by the negative. It was good to release my anger, my longing, my feelings... I tried to sleep but the smell didn't want me to do it...

Day 4

   I woke up before everybody else.
   - I hope you learned your lesson, you little brat! - Said Mother Gabby. - Now get out of here and go to your room so you can have a shower. You stink!
   I am getting tired of this place, and I've only been here 3 days! I can't believe how Alicia is always so positive and how Leonard hasn't thought about escaping... Anyways, when I arrived at my room, I took out my clothes and I put them on the laundry machine. In the shower, the water felt warmer than the last time. When I left the bath, after wearing my clothes, Alicia was already awakened.
   - So... I'm sorry for yesterday... I heard her question... Thanks for not telling her it was me.
   - It's ok, Alicia! You don't have to say sorry... It wasn't your fault... - I said.
   - I'm owning you one! - She said, blinking her left eye.
   - Did you ever think about getting out of this place? - I asked.
   - I can't... If you run away from a problem, then you can't solve it. So pretend everything is alright just like I do, and you can stay here as long as you want.
   - That's the problem, I don't want to stay here anymore. My best friend Emma is waiting for me...
   - Oh! She must be very lucky to have a best friend like you!
   I laughed.
   - EVERYBODY WAKE UP!!! ITS TIME TO WAKE UP!!! - Said Mother.
   - Umm... Why are you both already awake? - Asked Leonard, still half asleep.
   - We were talking about the house! - Said Alicia. - But we should head to classes right now!
   As Alicia said, the three of us were the first to arrive at the room. There was a random kid in the corner of the room and his name was Alex.
 

  - Well, I hope we have fun together! - Said Alicia, looking at me and Leonard.
   Everyone was already in the room when Mother Gabby came. She was quite different today... Or maybe it was just me, since I didn't see her yesterday.
   - Kids, I would like to introduce you to two new people. Your new brother, Alex. And your Auntie, Miss Savannah.
   Suddenly, an adult entered our classroom. You could tell she was somewhere around 24 years old.
   - Hello, kids! I hope we can have fun together! I am responsible for the playground, so you can have fun and play games with something! Anything you can call me! - She said with a smile.
   At that moment, we knew that Mother Gabby invited someone to give us more trouble.
   This morning was faster than yesterday's. We were all in the canteen, talking about how to stop Mother Gabby from treating everyone miserably.
   - We need a plan, Alicia! We can't just act on our own! - Said Leonard.
   - Leonard is right! - I said.
   - What if we get her to taste her own poison? - She asked.
   - What do you mean? - I asked.
   - You know... We put her with the pigs. - She said.
   - What pigs? - Asked Savannah.
   - Auntie Savannah! What are you doing here? - Said Alicia.
   - I want to play with you! Can I be a pig too? - She asked. - How do I play?
   - Since you're the pig, you'll have to run away from the bad wolf! And the bad wolf will be myself! - Said Leonard.
   - Okay! Thanks for letting me play! - She said, getting out of the table.
   - That was a close one! - Said Alicia.
   - Okay, so I got another idea! What if we ask Bradley, Gloria and Julian? They are the ones that discovered most of the things. - I said.
   - Actually, Sonia was the one who discovered most of the things. She even entered Mother Gabby's Office. - Said Leonard.
   - Ok! So I am interviewing Sonia! - I said.
   - She's not with us anymore! - Said Alicia. - Mother told us she was adopted but that is something I have been asking myself since the day she left... However, she was the one that gave that information to Julian.
   - Ok! So I am interviewing Julian! - I said.
   - I'll stay with Gloria! - Said Alicia.
   - Guess I'll stay with Bradley then. - Said   Leonard.
   After lunch time, in the playground, I went to talk with Julian.
   - Hello! - I said.
   - Hello! Do I know you? - He asked.
   - No, but I need to ask you some questions!
   - Do it as fast as you can! I am not in a good mood right now...
   - Ok, so... Do you remember what you saw when you went to the forbidden area? - I asked.
   He swallowed:
   - You wouldn't believe me... I didn't even believe in myself when I saw that.
   - That what? - I asked.
   Julian pushed my arm to the corner of the playground, so Auntie Savannah couldn't listen:
   - When I opened Mother's door, I found photos of girls eating pigs' food and other disgusting things... They weren't that much detailed, like they were taken by surveillance cameras. In some of the photos they were naked, in others their faces were dirty with... You know... It's disgusting what Mother makes their own children suffer. Ever since I used my forgiveness pass, I never misbehaved again... I'm afraid to see that reality. I prefer to hope Mother Gabby is my real Mother.
   - Wait, how did you open the door? - I asked.
   - Sonia has a key under her pillow, her bed is unoccupied since she left.
   - Thank you, Julian! - I said.
   - You're welcome! - He replied.
   The afternoon ended. Before going to bed, Alicia and Leonard were talking with me about what each one of them discovered. Alicia told us that Gloria said that the farm's door can only be locked from the outside, but she thinks that if there is a tall person there and a small one, the tall one can help the small one reach the window and one of them is able to get out. Leonard said that Bradley didn't remember that day...
   - Ewww!!! That's so gross... - Said Alicia
   - The question is, when Sonia entered the Mother's Office, she was expelled. However, when Julian entered he was immune, because he had the forgiveness pass. - I said. - He also mentioned that Sonia left a copy of the Office's key under her pillow.
   - So we need someone that still hasn't wasted his forgiveness pass? - Asked Leonard.
   That's when we all remembered him...
