Till jumped from his bed at the sound of his alarm, groaning as he ran a hand through his hair – it was way too early. His hand reached to the phone on the nightstand, turning the alarm off as he fell back onto the bed and turned over, pulling the covers further up himself and closing his eyes at the warmth he didn't want to leave.
But eventually, as all highschool students have to do, he got up and looked at his phone, staring at the time written upon it blankly before getting out of the bed and changing into his uniform, stretching and also following his usual routine, which had become more habit than anything else. It wasn't long before he was out of his house with his backpack and on his way to hell.
And by hell he means school, just for clarification.
He ran a hand through his hair numbly, already tired before the day began. Thinking that Mizi was there barely did anything to help, thinking of Ivan only tired him further and he didn't even know Sua well enough to have an opinion of her – He's also pretty sure that she hates him (Sua hates everyone who isn't Mizi).
He fished through his pockets, pulling out some earbuds and pushing them into his ears firmly, playing the loudest music he could whilst walking. The banging in his ears did something to calm him – if it could be called calming. His music taste wasn't very common, and he was sure everyone who walked past him could hear the exact songs he was playing but who was he to care?
It took him a few minutes, but he – unfortunately – arrived at the school gates in time. It was a struggle not to hunch over with the most horrid expression he could muster as a show of discontent but he ended up standing straight and not dragging his feet. Though, he did yawn a couple of times.
Upon the arrival at his classroom, he sat in his seat and prepared to deal with Ivan's excited-not-excited annoying-not-annoying teasing and poking. Till didn't know why Ivan spent so much time around him, after all, he was everything Ivan hated– rebellious, ignorant.. The list goes on.
"Finally on time for once?" Ivan asked, leaning impossibly close with that same unsettling grin on his face where his fang poked out and his thick eyebrows raised slightly. Till spared a single glance, before turning to his bag and pulling out a notebook to draw in.
"Not by choice." Was his casual response, under his breath but neutral compared to what his usual tone was. He took a pen, clicking it a few times before beginning to scratch it onto the paper. It seemed he'd need a new pen soon.. "If I procrastinated longer, I'd probably end up expelled, or something of the sorts."
"You wouldn't be." Ivan said, in his all-knowing attitude, as if he knew everything that would happen all to the specific placement of an unnamed rock. Till continued to scratch the running out ink onto the paper in some raggedy drawing which wasn't Mizi.
"What makes you say that?" He asked, staring at his paper and shaking the pen a few times before placing it back down and continuing to scratch.
"Oh, y'know.. I just have good instincts." Responded Ivan, and Till didn't look up to catch the slight roll of his eyes. But the other continued to lean closer, staring at whatever Till was drawing down. "Are those music notes?"
"Don't know. Have a spare pen?" Wordlessly, Ivan placed a pen in Till's open hand, taking the empty one and placing it somewhere Till didn't know. Frankly, he didn't care what Ivan did with the pen either, he was too busy clicking and scratching with the new pen. The ink flowed properly this time, and he didn't have to continuously go back and forth to make sure the ink was working in the right places.
Eventually he looked up to see Ivan, centimetres away from his face. His brows furrowed, pushing the other away gently as his eyes looked around the room and he found both Mizi and Sua murmuring between each other. Always so together, so tight Till found it hard to even approach them, like he'd ruin a special sort of ritual or something. Mizi always made a point to say he could talk to her whenever, but when she was with Sua it felt lime he'd be breaking an unknown boundary of sorts – well, it always felt like he was breaking a boundary when talking to her. Like he should stay a proper distance from her and never get close.
"Watcha looking at?" Ivan's face popped up in his peripheral, as eye-catching as ever. Till, consequently, turned away, now aimlessly tapping the pen on the paper with no specific intention.
"Just thinking. You?" Of course, he didn't mention he was thinking of Mizi and the unspoken line they had which only he seemed to notice.
"I'm looking at you." It was difficult to exercise the rules of the school pointing to no physical violence when all Ivan liked to do was rile the other up. So in the end Till settled for glaring at him, pushing his face away by putting a finger on his forehead.
"Cheesy." A single word barely heard over his breath was all he said, rolling his eyes and turning away from Ivan yet again, this time to lean on one of his hands and stare out of the window at the mediocre scenery. It wasn't much compared to Ivan's appearance, but Till considered it better.
Ivan, annoyingly so, had leaned his chin on Till's shoulder, eyes persistently on the other. Till didn't move to shake him off, it was too bothersome for the moment – so there Ivan stayed. Till didn't bother to question whether he'd get an ache from it, since the other seemed content.
"Hey, Till." Ivan suddenly spoke, breaking the silent peace between them as Till glanced at him, raising an eyebrow as a silent prompt to continue. "What do you say about going out with me?"
If Till had a drink, he'd spit it out.
"What?!" He whisper-yelled, flinching slightly from the backlash as Ivan was forced to sit straight. Ivan seemed unfazed, still smiling as he stared at Till.
"How about we go on a date? You know, like couples do?" He repeated, calm as ever.
"What in your mind made you think the best way to ask someone out was in school?" Till said, his tone a mix of deadpan and disappointment.
"I don't know. Is that a no or..?" Till's face burned up, and he didn't resist the overwhelming urge to turn away from Ivan completely.
"Fuck- Fine, yes."
