36. No Turning Back

Nischay turned back, his heartbeat racing feeling the touch of the hand on his shoulder. It was still there.

He took a deep sigh of relief on seeing the person standing before him.

It was none other than Abhishek.

Nish (whispering): Abbu, tune toh mujhe dara hi diya tha.

N/b: Sorry Nonu.

Nish: Koi baat nahi. Tu safe hai, yeh zyada matter karta hai. Uss guard ka kya hua?

N/b: Oh woh? Woh guard toh kuch bhi nahi tha yaar. Chloroform aur tranquilizer ka shot de aaya hoon usse. Ab woh itni jald toh nahi uthne wala.

Nish: Aree waah Abbu! Tu toh inmein maahir nikla re. Chupa rustam.

N/b: Mujhe bhi yeh aaj hi pata chala.😅 Chal abhi uss badmaash ko dhundte hai.

Nish: Hmm let's go par saath mein. Alag mat hona mere se.

N/b: Haan bilkul. Jo karenge saath mein karenge.

Nish: Bilkul. Yeh baat ki naa tune.

United atlast, Nischay and Abhishek continued their quest for Armaan, checking every place through every room in the mansion. But he was nowhere to be found.

While in pursuit of him, Abhishek stumbled across a room around the kitchen which had not been yet checked by them before.

N/b: Nischay, yaha aana toh.

Nish: Kya baat hai?

He came to see what was the matter.

N/b: Iss room mein kya ho sakta hai? Bas yehi kamra hum dono mein se kisi ne nahi dekha pehle.

Nish: I don't think humein iss room mein jaana chahiye. Kuch doubt lag raha hai mujhe.

N/b: Ek baar dekh toh le aakhir ke kya hi andar.

Nish: Are you sure? Like really wala?

N/b: Yes I'm sure.

Nischay nodded at his words, believing him. Abhishek opened the door and just when both of them entered inside that room, the lights started flickering.

Nish: Abbu, yeh lights. Inko kya hogaya?

N/b: Aree kuch nahi. Tu ispe zyada dhyaan mat de. Yaad hainaa humara kaam ab tak khatam nahi hua hai?

Nish: Haan woh baat bhi hai. Tu sahi keh raha hai.

They went more into the room and the shimmering of light continued. At one point, the flickering became so frequent that two light bulbs cracked and fell down on the ground.

A thick haze of darkness began to spread, engulfing them. There was no more light in the room. Only pitch black. Abhishek and Nischay, both being protective of each other held their hands tight so as to not get separated.

Just then, out of nowhere, they heard a voice from afar.

??: Nischay Malhan. Abhishek Malhan.

It was a deep voice, almost like sinister.

Abhishek decided to see what was it or to be precise, who was it. He started walking towards the voice but Nischay felt something off about it and he called out to him.

Nish: Abbu, mat jaa waha.

But his voice fell in deaf ears. Abhishek did not listen to him and continued walking ahead. Nischay sighed and thought of following his brother, unwillingly walking towards the voice. Wherever their legs made them walk.

At that instance itself, everything fell silent. No talking, no whispers nothing.
Abhishek's footsteps also receeded. Not being exactly able to see in the dark, Nischay bumped into his back unknown to Abhishek, not noticing his presence behind him.

N/b: Nonu, tu yaha kaise aur kab?

Nish: Main toh kabse tere peeche hi aa raha tha. Tujhe pata nahi chala?

N/b: Nahi toh.

Nish: Kyun aaya tu yaha?

N/b: Pata nahi. Par lagta hai yaha kuch toh hai jo mujhe kheech laayi.

Nish: Kya? Yeh tu kya bol raha hai?

N/b: Haan. Mera matlab....

"Abhishek sahi keh raha hai Nischay. Kabhi toh apne chote bhai ki baat bhi sunn liya karo."

A voice was heard, making the two stop their conversation. When they shifted their eyes from each other towards the front, there he stood, right infront of them.

With his hands in his pockets and a mischievous, evil smile on his face.

Nish: Armaan? Tum? Chalo aakhir tum mujhe yaha mil hi gaye.

Armaan: Haan woh toh hai. Toh swagat hai aapka Mr Malhan. Game shuru karein?

Abhishek was about to say something when Nischay raised his hand, showing it to him and stopping him.

Nish: Shuru kiya jaaye.
