Naruto buttoned his shirt as he stood at the edge of the bed. He was more relaxed than how he had been the night before. His breathing seemed slow and calm. The environment seemed more light and the scent of fresh air was overwhelmingly pleasant.
Sasuke wrapped the watch around his wrist as he stared at the weather outside. The snow had settled down and the sun peeked through the clouds. It was a perfect morning.
"I'll get going, thanks for the blood by the way." Naruto foolishly beamed a smile at the raven who seemed rather pleased with the outcome of their conversations last night.
"I can drop you, just give me a moment." Sasuke spoke in a relaxed tone as he looked for his keys.
"There's really no need—I can call a cab." Naruto pulled out his phone, only to find that it was dead. "Shoot, I didn't charge it! Can you call a cab for me?" He looked up at the man with hopeful eyes which were ignored.
"Come on." He opened the door and walked out as Naruto hurriedly followed him. Sasuke opened the door for the blond as he happily entered.
The car ride was quiet and comforting, the two busy in their own thoughts. Naruto realized Sasuke wasn't much of a morning person because of much he groaned and rolled around when Naruto had to slip out of his grasp and disturbed his sleep in the process. The blond insisted that he could find his own way out and preferably call an Uber. But Sasuke refused and got up to give him a ride. Still, the blond could only keep his mouth shut for so long."You know, I love the smell of snow—if you can even call it that...I'm not sure if it's snow, though. It could be rain? I don't know. It seems to pure to me, like it's the one thing that I know will forever remain the same no matter how much things change around you. Oh! And especially those random scents that smell like a memory, but you don't know which memory it is, and you can only remember the memory for a split second before you forget what it actually was, y'know? But what I like even more is when you hug somebody and their natural scent just hits you so hard. Everyone has different smells, and I think that is so fascinating to me."
Seriously? This guy was rambling on about scents? In his 700 years of living, never had Sasuke thought this deeply about scents, or this deep about anything. Sasuke stared at the blond as he faced the window with a bright smile on his face. What a strange being he was. "Do you usually talk this much?"
"Oh. Sorry, I didn't realize I was talking that much. I tend to forget when to stop—usually people just kind of interrupt me so I never get to chat a whole lot!" Naruto shyly rubbed his neck as the car came to a stop.
"It's not a problem." Sasuke answered with a softer tone as he got out of the car, opening Naruto's door. He held out a hand as the blond eyed him suspiciously before he allowed Sasuke to hold it.
"I could've gotten out myself, but thanks anyway." Naruto mumbled as Sasuke shut the door.
"Now, what kind of a husband would I be if I didn't open the door for my wife." Sasuke gave one of his cheeky smirks as he walked inside the shop with Naruto.
"I'm not your wife, moron!" Naruto yelled as he was being followed by the pale man.
Sasuke gave a small chuckle as they entered Naruto's workplace. There wasn't many people at this particular time of the day so Naruto didn't have to worry about getting in trouble about his tardiness, if his manager didn't see him. Which, she did.
A woman stomped over to the blond with an angry look. Sasuke immediately sensed Naruto's nervousness as he shrunk his body, almost in a way to hide himself behind the raven. In front of Sasuke stood a tall blond woman with rather large breasts, revealing her cleavage area. Her hair was tied back into two pigtails and she seemed to be in her late 40s. "Brat! Why are you so committed to turning my life into an unbearable nightmare with your lateness again!?"
