THE BREEZE drifted softly across the sunken midnight air, the smell of fresh rain infiltrating the campus of Horton School of Girls. The leaves gently breezed along the skimpy branches, the stars glistened in the sky like lost jewels in the deep blue ocean. The clouds faintly drifted above the green vibrant grass, flowers of several colors poked out from each patchy surface of dirt. Crickets looped around from each corner and across in every bush. The dainty footsteps of students echoed along the marble floor, heartbeats thumping against their ribcages in blood rushing thrill.
The crowds of girls huddled around the empty circle- with the exception of a tiny table- on the floor, the girls hidden in the abandoned restroom. The restroom being dimmed lightly by candles and phone-lights, slippers squeaked against the icy tile. Faith Conklin sat on the rug criss-crossed, eyes squinted as she smiled widely from ear-to-ear.
The sound of quiet applauses erupted slowly, Faith sat up on her knees to get a look. "Look!- Tilly!" She softly shook Tilly Paloma's shoulder, whose head hung loose with a snore; immediately sitting on her knees with a confused yawn. "What?-" Tilly whispered as she clapped her hands, Faith smiled toothily towards the drowsy girl. "The elections bowls, i-it's here!"
All the girls stood up as they clapped at the sight of Juliette Yun hold the bowl twice the size of her hand between her grip. Her eyes glistened with a hinge of excitement as she placed the bowl on the stool. Various small scraps of paper inside the clear bowl, the girls waited in anticipation on their knees. Jules clapped her hands to gain their silent attention, lips pursed.
"Good luck, and may the best girls be choosen." Her voice rung along the silent crowd, the scents of perfume and vanilla candles drifted. Victoria Linguette stood besides Jules, her hand digging into the bowl with ease. Her hand slowly retrieving a piece of paper, her smirk tensed as she sighed.
"Faith Conklin!"
Eyes landed on Faith who awkwardly stood up, stumbling as she gained her posture. Whispers lingered as Tilly held her breath tightly. Victoria placed another hand into the bowl.
"Jules Yun!"
Jules bit her lip in a zing of excitement, clapping softly as a few whistles lifted. Victoria tilted her head as she then dipped her own hand into the papers, taking out a piece.
"Tilly Paloma!"
Faith jumped in place as she grabbed Tilly's hand, Tilly brushed a strand of hair behind her ear as she smiled widely. Faith dragged the girl up to her feet, bouncing on her heels. "Twins!"
"Victoria Linguette!"

The bus rumbled against the execrable dirt road, the sun hovered over the grassy hills of ups and downs. The sky was the shade of a elation blue. Luka Nomada leaned against the side of the bus, legs across the seat, alone with his book between his hands. His wary eyes scanned the pages of the book as the clatter in the background rose. Idiots.
Brady Hollister let out an exaggerated laugh, his eyes gloomy as he threw a fresh banana peel towards the front of the bus. "Whoops!" He teased with child-like eyes that glistened with a laugh.
