Dirt on A Road

SHE HISSED THROUGH her teeth, the burning sensation of the inking needle on her wrist. She had gotten tattoos before, she was familiar with the pain. The sun slowly was setting on the motel, Lilly had offered to give Ashley a tattoo, who was she to say no to a free one?

"You know what you're doing right?" Ashley wondered, Lilly's jaw dropped offended. "Now that hurts, you don't trust me." She says.

"I didn't say that, I meant -" I know what you meant, I have training just ask Boone." She smirked.

"Yeah she knows what she's doing, the last tattoo she gave me I was." He hesitates, sucking air through his teeth.  "I was squealing a little." He admitted, her lips parted agape.

"What?!" She exclaimed, laughing at him.  "Wait what is it? Ashley wondered.

"Can I see it?" She asked, his eyes widened glancing between Lilly and her.  "I don't think I can show you, it's somewhere I don't want ya to see," Boone says.

"Oh." Ashley laughed, Lilly smiled looking at him.

"You know that was fun a time man," Lilly says, he grinned, rubbing his neck.

"Sure you don't want one after her? I got clean needles." She asked him, he put up his hands.

"No Ma'am I am alright, maybe later." His voice smooth drawl made Ashley blush.

"Excuse me?" Someone spoke up, behind Boone a man pushed up glasses with a notepad in hand.  "I'm sorry to intrude, is this a bad time?" Ben wondered.

"Uh depends," Ashley answers, the buzz of the tattoo gun going.  "You two haven't met yet, have ya?" Boone asked. The reporter shook his head.

"Ben, This is Ashley." He introduced them.  "Ashley this is Ben, he's a reporter." Boone gushed, holding onto the man's shoulders.

"He is doing a piece on storm chasing in America right? Boone clarified. Ben pushed up his glasses.  "Uh yes, that is correct." He agreed.

"Pleasure to me you." Ashley smiled nicely.  "Likewise," Ben says, he held up his smile notepad.

"And do you spell your name like L-E-E or L-E-Y?" He wondered, she chuckled.  "L-E-Y, nothing too fancy," She remarked.

"My mom wasn't into that upper-class way of naming me." She laughed.  He wrote down her response.

"Do you mind if I ask a few questions for my piece?" He kindly wondered, she shrugged.  "Sure." She agreed.

"Where are you from?" He questioned, looking up.  "I'm from here in Oklahoma." She tell's him, gritted as Lilly continues to line her wrist.

"You said Pawhuska," Boone asked, she nodded. Impressed he had remembered it.  "Did you study metrology?." Ben cut in.

"I did, I almost chose not to but my uncle. He convinced me," she smiled.  "How long have you been a storm chaser?" He asked.
